bagerap Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 English is this seller's second language. From the sentence structure and syntax, it's likely he thinks in arabic/persian. Quote
TomGoodheart Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 The blurb is sort of amusing. But it bemuses me that people don't seem to be able to work out how to turn an image around so the coin is the right way up. That I find irritating! Quote
Nordle11 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Yeah that really is a pain in the derrière Quote
scott Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 not as annoying as ebay suddenly changing all the drop down box options down Quote

Nordle11 Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 I love the seller's grade on this one "Smooth grade, however please see for yourself as everyone grades a little differently" Quote
Rob Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) I love the seller's grade on this one "Smooth grade, however please see for yourself as everyone grades a little differently" Somewhat disturbingly, if you click on the link to ebay, at the bottom of the page eBay brings up a few suggestions that you might be interested in. Top row is a run of smooth worthless pennies. An intelligent promotional system would realise that I am not interested in crap. It should be able to make a connection between crap descriptions, not pictured items. That would also reduce the number of options available - washers are everywhere, but amusingly described washers are considerably scarcer. Edited October 20, 2015 by Rob Quote
azda Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 a new grade has been born smooth grade.I wonder if in time we'll get variants of said grade, smoooth grade being good smoooth and smooooth grade being Near smoooooth 2 Quote

davidrj Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Oh dear are we starting to get fakes of rare bronze now?this is a rare coin with a mintage of just 250,000, and poor survival rate in the tropics - but this 4 Bese of Italian Somalia has to be cast surelya real one in high grade here Quote
Rob Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 The listing certainly has a 'recently manufactured' look about it.If it is that rare, it should be possible to tie coins to past sales. i.e. provenance (yet again) Quote
azda Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) Hmmmmm Mr buckscoins is being economical with the truth AND at quite an expensehttp://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/311441604610And the same coin with a slightly better description and price of £300 hammer Edited October 20, 2015 by azda Quote

azda Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Well if Londons can't determine it, how can he, they normally scrutinise everything. Here's the one I got, seems a lot more clearer to me, hence the reason I found his eBay auction then the Londons one Quote
