Paddy Posted July 9 Posted July 9 This just to record the issue several of us are experiencing when posting attachments to threads: When an attachment is dragged into the appropriate area, it appears there correctly, but when we go to save the post, the system jumps to an unformatted page with a "Forbidden" error. The detail talks about being "unable to access that page". I have tried many times, coming out of the thread and back in, even logging completely out of predecimal and back in, with the same problem. If I delete the attachment, the words of the post save fine. Can someone please look into this? It has now been several weeks since I was last able to post a picture. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Hello, yes I had a report and have contacted the hosts. Apparently they had blocked a lot of IP addresses due to massive amounts of spam/malicious traffic. They may have been overzealous. I'm still investigating. 3 1 Quote
HistoricCoinage Posted July 9 Posted July 9 If helpful, it's also not allowing externally-hosted images so will likely be something to do with firewall or CDN (perhaps GoCreations use Cloudflare, etc.). Quote
secret santa Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I've just had the same message when just replying to a post without even attempting to post an image. Quote
Rob Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) I'm getting a forbidden trying start a topic on the free Oasis concert in Heaton Park tonight. But strangely, not now? Why would this be a timing thing at some point during the day? Edited July 12 by Rob Quote
Paddy Posted July 12 Author Posted July 12 I tried to post my pics of the William II penny last night and again this morning - still no progress. Quote
Rob Posted July 14 Posted July 14 It seems to work sometimes and not others. On Saturday it was impossible to reply to the Oasis post, but today was fine. But when I tried to edit it, I couldn't, because forbidden reared it head again. Quote

joe_77 Posted July 18 Posted July 18 (edited) Good morning, I have the same issue when trying to open a new topic in the British Coin Related Discussions section. The issue doesn't appear to be IP-specific as I tried a couple of them but it has either to do with posting "too much" content or content with links inside. I had to "stitch" a post together with many edits but the result was not optimal. EDIT: even this comment got blocked.. because it had an emoticon inside Edited July 18 by joe_77 Quote

Bronze & Copper Collector Posted July 18 Posted July 18 I have this issue too intermittently. Even just on a plain text post. Quote

Coinery Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Hi @Chris Perkins are we anywhere near a fix for these issues, yet? I have to confess I don’t envy you trying to maintain a forum like this. Quote
Chris Perkins Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Hello, sorry for not responding sooner. I'll see what the latest from the host is and in fact direct him to read this thread so he can get an idea about the sorts of errors ocurring. 4 Quote
Paddy Posted July 23 Author Posted July 23 Hi @Chris Perkins it might be worth the host reading the thread in Members, Coin Acquisition of the week as that has quite a lot more discussion on this problem. Quote

Paddy Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 Hi @Chris Perkins, Any progress on this? I saw someone - presumably from your host company - making test posts successfully to this thread, but most of the rest of us are still getting the error. I could post a screenshot of the error page we get when we encounter the problem. If you or someone from the hosting company PMs me an email address I can do that. (Obviously I can't post it here!) TomGoodheart Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Just checking if I can actually post anything. .. ok, that worked. Quote
