the site doesn't load properly in Firefox as of today.

deleting Local Storage (always my cure before now for the occasional FF problem) doesn't do anything.

running it in Chromium seems to work ok.

There has been a host server problem since yesterday evening, looks like it might be sorted now.

Does anyone know why the page buttons aren't working on any threads?

Have we had a software change because I had a couple of random request asking if I would accept notifications? I blocked it because they come through automatically as far as I'm aware, or at least have up to now, so either gremlins or someone phishing.

My thread page buttons are working fine. Able to navigate between different pages on different threads, no problem at all.

Must be something wrong with my end then. Not to worry, as it will eliminate wandering through previous posts and make me more productive. :)

If you try to type a page number in it gives a message 'This form is not secure. Autofill has been turned off'. Presumably the issue is with google rather than me. If so, that's a shot in the foot as they can't track my wanderings - there not being any. Every cloud etc.....

Right. I'm p'ing in the wind having spent all day trying to rectify this and got nowhere. Only being able to access the last page of everything is unworkable as even past PMs can't be opened. It appears to be specific to this forum, as others allow me to view past pages.

I'll ask one of the kids to look at it at Christmas when they come home. In the meantime, if anyone wants to contact me, please use either the contact link on my website or email me if you have the address as forum notifications of any messages may or may not work.

Wish I could help, Rob, but I’m also of that certain generation.

I'm getting the same message too, when typing in a page number. Using android mobile and Google.

Not much help I know, but at least you're not alone.

Exactly as Rob and Zo Arms report above, the issue is also affecting me, rendering the site pretty much unusable. It is a site security issue which Chrome is picking up (it gives a warning about the site not being fully secure and so one should not enter any sensitive information like passwords etc - bit hard to log on, then!) - and blocking any attempt to go to different pages. Other browsers do allow page access, but the security issue is still present.

Please can someone fix things?! @TomGoodheart or @Chris Perkins perhaps?

I have no control over such things I'm afraid, but I've messaged Chris.

Hello everyone.

As far as I know the forum should be https, just as the whole of the predecimal.com website is. TomGoodheart sent me a link to this page, but the link was actually just plain http and that seemed to work but did show 'not secure' in the browser.

Can those experiencing a problems manually change what appears in the address path to be prefixed with https instead of http? Does that help at all?

@Chris Perkins In my address bar, the prefix is already https and that leads to the warning of not fully secure and the page selection issues.

I can manually change to just http but then the whole site is not at all secure, says the warning.

Your predecimal shopfront is fine and secure. Is there a problem with the forum's security certificate?? But I am not at all knowledgeable about these things. All I know is that it stopped working properly a couple of weeks ago, and the issue affects all users in terms of security but only Chrome users in terms of page selection.

Anything that can be done? In this day and age of hacking etc, I am very reluctant to use an insecure site!

Thanks if you can resolve!

I'll check with my host. As far as I knew, the security cert covers the whole website and I'm not aware of anything being changed a couple of weeks ago.

I use Chrome and am having no problems at all. The address bar does show "Not Secure" but it always has done in the forum area as far as I know.

It might be worth checking/comparing your Chrome security settings. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the browser window and select "Settings" and then "Privacy and Security". Under "Safe browsing" I have "Standard" rather than "Enhanced" selected. Further down under Advanced I have "Always use secure connections" turned off.

I am not necessarily suggesting you change your settings, but if they are different it may explain where the issue is.

Further - I just tried putting https before the predecimal address and got a "Not allowed" message where previously it said "Not Secure".

There was a little issue identified by my host where the master global config setting for the forum path was set to the non SSL version (i.e. http not https). That may have caused the forum to get mixed up trying to serve both http and https and that may well have caused problems. I suspect that may require users to clear their caches or just the files related to the forum - or it may well slowly sort itself out (if that was the issue).

My pleasure. I've also updated some other stuff in the background so if this message gets through, that's also a good sign! I may also completely update the forum software to the newest version. I'm always nervous about that as it tends to change things that make little sense and can negatively affect some users who use a particular feature etc. In some cases it can also introduce new errors, but the last update was 4 years ago so it's probably due one.

I for one would be grateful if you didn't upgrade the software - I've not experienced any of the problems mentioned but I do use a very old version (the latest allowed for my OS ) of Firefox and I suspect that an upgrade may stop it working?
