  1. The one I really wanted went over my limit almost instantly. Waiting to see were it goes!!!!!!!
  2. Thanks Dave, it only cost me about 50p so no loss. I noticed it felt waxy, sounds strange I know, but made me think it was duff. Will be a nice thing to hand on to the local school for when they do the hands on history lessons. Already donated a load of 20th century predecimal which went down well. No loss and appreciate you taking the time. Cheers Brian
  3. Got a query on a penny I just acquired. It is fairly worn, although I still like it. It is a 1860 Beaded Penny with counterstamp. Any idea if it stands for anything. It seems very deliberately placed. I thought it was a Q but maybe something else. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi Guys I got this in with a few other bits and pieces and paid very little. Trying to figure out if it is genuine or not. Any help appreciated. Cheers
  5. Got confirmation from Neil this morning.
  6. I have had no bid confirmation. I bid yesterday and my bids seem to have gone on!!!
  7. I have a couple of bids in now myself. Not sure if I will come out with any in the end. Would just be nice to say I had an Ex-Copthorne in my collection =D
  8. Have to say I'm looking foward to taking part too. Brand new to me too!!
  9. What I find great about this auction is that there is something to suit all pockets. All quality too! I have now registered with Colin Cooke as I had not previously. Brilliant collection
  10. My contribution. Not great at taking pics of silver and still can't manage to get the detail from the Obverse as it shows in hand!!
  11. Can I just say a massive thanks Steve for your web page. It was the first page I found online prior to coming to the forum and gave me a lot of inspiration. Your site and Richards as well as other members of this forum are resources which I have used time and time again. I am sure there are many other members and non members who have been awed over the years by these fantastic online pages and that many have gone on to embrace the joy of this brilliant and very addictive hobby. Thanks Guys
  12. Thanks for the clarification Paulus. I think he is definately shooting himself in the foot!!!! Off course thats my opinion.
  13. I do the same as you Mat. My coins are all loose, bar a couple I got from a friend on here. I use it as a resource, I certainly wouldn't pay £99 for it. It seems self defeating in respect that you want everything to be transparent and crystal clear. If I was to start collecting slabbed coins and wanted to verify them I certainly wouldn't use a company that would charge me a fee to do so. Hopefully it is some kind of misunderstanding or error as surely it will lead to a major loss of business and revenue for them.
  14. Very interesting. One of the first pages I came across online when I came back to the hobby. Could some one put the link here when the auction catalogue is up and running. Thanks
  15. Here they are again from a little further out.
  16. Here are my 2 pics of 1918H as promised. Definately more than 1 variety of 1918H then!
  17. Will get some done later tonight Matt.
  18. Yes
  19. I added myself to the site at CGS. I paid no fee's! I use the site frequently to look for variants, etc...
  20. OK Question This may have been asked or talked about before but I can't seem to find it. I have a few lower grade 1918H pennies and noticed that the "H" on some are directly over a tooth and I have one were it is to the side of a tooth. Is this already a known thing. I seem to remember something about the 1919H. Thanks
  21. I have to say since I posted this I have started getting them for bronze Half-pennies. Some fit fine but others are a bit loose fitting!
  22. Welcome to the forum.
  23. Thanks Pete, Coins arrived safe and sound as always. Cheers Brian
  24. To be honest if it wasn't for Richard's penny page I wouldn't have worked it out. I had missed the extra Leaf!!!
  25. Reverse. THINK I MAY HAVE SORTED THIS OUT. Now looking again I think it is just the common a garden J + d
