  1. Is there not something protruding out from the top of the 6 there too!
  2. if no one else interested I wouldn't mind it Pete.
  3. I am still looking for the blocked "2" 1922 penny. Hadn't realised there was a blocked "5" 1915. Will have to dive into the penny bags and see if I can be lucky ??. Think this maybe a nice side collection.
  4. They don't seem to have hit this area yet at all. I have friends in shops and pubs as well as on the Taxi's and they have all been trying to get one for me. So far no one has had one. Will text my sister in law in Luton. They always seem to get new coin releases before we do!!
  5. Very close but you can tell the toning against the BU 1947, etc.. Still looks nice though. Problem with me is that I like them all from the deep chocolate sheen to the orangey hue. They all have a beautiful sheen to them. I do have a number of 44 and 46 as well all different hues. Maybe something to keep a hold off as an example of this period of the RM bronze production. Also have a number of spares as well so will have to start unloading some at some point.I have quite a few spare Geo V & VI now in Unc condition, mostly the later Geo V - 1928 and on (no top notch 32 or 34 though, yet! just EF toned or near EF). I get what Pete mean't now about those 2.
  6. Will do some decent close-ups and microscope shots Matt. This was quick with my phone. Cheers Brian
  7. Turns out I had a 1932 with filled in 2 all along! Not quite as dramatic but definately filled.
  8. Here are a few standard uncirculated 1945 pennies. They are all as struck and mint toned. The thing I like about them are the range of colours that were achieved through the process.
  9. Not a rare or expensive medal by any stretch of the imagination and my pics are nowhere near the above but here is one of the bargains I got from the auction at the TNS meeting last week. It was the princely sum of £1!!!!!!
  10. Here is that hollowed out Victoria half penny. Its got more detail than can be seen. shame really!
  11. Gutted, but was less than £2 so not a problem in that sense!
  12. Here is a quick pic taken with my phone.
  13. I am not 100%. Think it is a different reverse but maybe there has been some tweaking. The coin I have has no problems to the teeth to the right below date. The one pictured certainly does. There also seems to be a difference in the area above the foot were there seems to be an imperfection, mine doesn't. However there is a similar mark across the Y of PENNY. Will take a quick pic for you to compare. Maybe just a bad pic giving, as you say, a misleading image!!!!
  14. Recieved my blocked "2" 1932 penny today to find it has no blocked "2" and has grown a tooth back!!!!
  15. Nice novelty piece. I have a lovely milled out Victorian halfpenny. No secondary piece though. Maybe the start of a similar project or has lost the other half over time. Will post pic later.
  16. Intrigued to see now Gary. Look forward to seeing it!
  17. Think so too. The 2 coins do look different to me. I was like yourselves sure it was classed as unique!!
  18. Pure fluke on this one. Was looking for something else and clicked in by accident. When I saw the date I had to buy it. £1 plus 85p postage. ? Bargain.
  19. Just managed to buy this little beauty. Will take better pics when it arrives. A great example of a filled 2 on a 1932 penny.
  20. Just the initial enjoyment of finding those differences for this one Pete. Hadn't realised that this coin had so many changes, etc... I initially thought it was the B under the F which is why I took pics but noticed the difference once I took them. Its an interesting side to the hobby and something i am enjoying learning about nearly everytime I visit the forum. Bar the "1853 GRATI.A (Dot) penny" I seem to have been lucky in that the legends have been very crisp without much interest or obvious recutting. I will dive back into Richards pics to see what else I can pick up. Cheers Brian
  21. On closure inspection there seems to have been a few recuts to this die. Here are a couple more pictures from the reverse of my 1858 penny. No idea whats going on with the G of REG and the final AR of BRITANNIAR definitley look to have been retooled/cut.
  22. Thanks Guys I always find the sharing of knowledge on here brilliant and appreciate learning from you all. The penny also has a very unusual G. I will post some pics in a bit when I get home. The knowledge base on here is second to none and I am so pleased I joined the forum. Cheers Brian
