  1. But its not good. Its washers. Washers for washers prices. Nothing clever. Nothing a bargain.
  2. Peckris: Pffft. If it wasn't for the port of Liverpool you'd still be eating moss. You tell 'em Chris!
  3. What are these luxuries you consider to be exclusively yours but have been stolen from you by the people of Merseyside? Twopenny washers?
  4. I'm 'ex' Liverpool. Been in South West Wirral for 20 years.
  5. Sirloin? Goose? Posh git! I thought you were from Liverpool? True! but it's Crimbo! Nothing's changed Peck. Scousers have always sourced their luxuries in Manchester. Just a quick trip down the East Lancs. Not in our house. Drop the first three letters and you'd be correct.
  6. I wonder quite what they were expecting. Low feedback seller from China, selling via German eBay. Doesn't get more iffy than that. Indeed. One born every minute etc….
  7. I see two people leaving feedback state the coins they received are fakes.
  8. Yes. They look dipped. Unusual, but nothing rare.
  9. Happy birthday! There have been quite a few on here this week .
  10. Morpheus. No need to apologise. If English is a second language to you then well done. The content of your posts will be easily understood by anyone reading them here. As you point out, very few members would probably be able to make themselves as clear in a language other than English. Continue posting. The forum is a very friendly place .
  11. There are a few nice EFs up for grabs http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Coin-Victorian-Penny-Young-Head-EF-1855-/381048592159 Most of the grading seems to be by consensus rather than by any analysis of the coin's wear which is why the EFs end up as UNCs and the VFs as EFs. But I can't grade for toffee so... I propose a new two-tier grading system. I was just reading some of his feedback though and I feel sorry for him actually, assuming his responses are honest as it would appear that other sellers are trying to discredit him on false grounds. From the same seller……. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Coin-Penny-Full-Lustre-1916-George-V-/381072204148?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item58b9ac6174 Be fair - he does say the coin's condition is 'Good'. I'm not going to argue with him Also 'impressive' and having 'full lustre' .

  13. Nice. I have one of those too. I also have the halfpenny (dated 1795).
  14. Hope you both have a good one.
  15. Thanks chaps. Yeah. The candles are becoming a bit of a fire hazard now, but I've managed 21 years more than Mozart did, and I'll always be younger than Keith Richards. Wouldn't say no to his dosh though .
  16. Looks NEF to me.
  17. Stuart, you're right. The colour values in the rest of the photo look to be pretty accurate. The coin could well be brown! I also agree it looks like a tun mm. Clear on the reverse, but on the obverse possibly been fiddled about with. If an earlier coin had been over struck, why would it be done in such a way? Both obverse and reverse designs and legends completely replaced, but just the tiny area where the mm appears left unchanged? Nah…..
  18. link Seller states "Hand mint mark is attributed to Elizabeth I. The rest of Elizabeths' likeness was removed and re-hammered with Charles' likeness. Very unique piece of history. All questions welcome." A snip at twice the price .
  19. Here, from my collection, is an example of a straightforward counterfeit halfpenny of the same period. A very dangerous business to be involved in back then!
  20. And 'Britain's Isles' on the reverse. Rob would probably be the bloke to ask about the initials under the bust. They are in relief, so unlikely to have been engraved later.
  21. I know, you might scratch them - the tweezers that is.
  22. I know all three items offered for sale are tat but, all the same; metal tweezers????? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BUN-HEAD-VICTORIAN-PENNY-/221613015230?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item33992a40be
