What appears to look underneath on a coin is on top on the die as the die is reversed i.e. the field part is the highest point on the die. All sounds a bit back to front 😶

Yes nothing wrong with the coin if its what your looking for , it just seemed a bit early for buying christmas presents.

I have just googled and read about Exeter change Will and found it interesting ,i didnt know that we even had an elephant over here that long ago .Not just about the time years ago but how the building has changed etc to todays new building on The Strand. I had never thought about these tokens before ☺️ Do you know an approximate year of the token ?

I suppose what i meant was how you could tell the difference between dandruff and a tiny bit of something else. Nearly every coin that has good lustre and seen daylight will show tiny microscopic spots caused by anything that was on the coin.This can clearly be seen from the residue left from a finger print. IMO Its........ Does it look ok to buy or does the spotting or size of the spot not look pleasing and may develop further in the metal.If it looked ok when i bought it after decades then just store away the best i can which hopefully will prevent any further spotting or toning. The topic of the thread being about the condition that it was in when put in the slab and should hopefully not start to show spots after or further toning if stored corectly , but there is know guarantee. Will remember that one.......Sebaceous

i think its due to being so many individual coins they have listed all the UIN so somebody can look at the pictures on the PCGS site.

Yes which will help .However if you want to leave your slab somewhere daft it would be your own fault.

I think its NGC who only garauntee the grade for ten years ,i am not sure the toning is caused so quickly by the plastic but more how it is stored. Again you buy the coin and not the grade as has been mentioned numerous times on here 😊

I dont know who he is or why he has upset you Dave. If he is just buying them and selling them for more , maybe the people who are buying them perhaps do not realise they are paying over the odds ? As far as i am aware though he does not come on here so is not going to defend himself if he doesnt think he is doing anything wrong ☺️

Yes they probably think its someone like me who is stupid (they are right ) buying low grade pennies for much more. I agree their money to do what they want with and probably most are bought by people with no interest in coins ,such as the 1953 set. Companies probably target the majority of people who will buy things just because they want them due to how they were described in the adverts.

Yes i agree . Yesterday i was looking at a full page advert in one of the daily papers by one of the companies that call themselves xxxxxxxx mint i think. I know the advert would of been a good few quid and often used as a loss leader to keep selling them things Described with all the hype and bollocks as a 1953 coronation set, Not even proofs and just a 1953 set with a couple of stamps, I cant remember how much they were ,although the price was ridiculous 😟. Maybe somebody on here saw it and can confirm the price ?

Yes its a F10 ,think the seller meant 1d as in the denomination and not the dies which would be the mule ☺️

He does say they are for pre-order and The Royal mint will maybe let a couple have large quantities of everything that comes out. I doubt they are going to turn the money down.

Yes i agree ,however the royal mint have now got a big customer base who are queing up to buy anything no matter how horrible it may look to us as pre decimal coin collectors. They now sell everything from wallets ,cufflinks and scarves. The plate coin may well be the next

Well just that seller has sold over forty in just a couple of days ,crazy i know but a lot more decimal collectors than i used to think and most seem to buy anything that is released. Dealers i speak to are getting asked every week for more and more decimal coins at shows and over the phone.
