  1. What a bell end and shows that Sun ,beer and water can end in an accident πŸ˜‚
  2. The power of the forum ..........He sold this Monday morning to a forum member πŸ™‚
  3. Useless bit of trivia.......My mum lives in his mums old house 😊
  4. None of those are Kev ,sorry i have not got a good clear picture that would help to show you properly ,plenty of them in low grade though. If you were checking a BU one it would be much easier to spot πŸ™‚ Going back to the other thread probably better to spend time on ones worth looking for as even if you find a 1893/2 in that grade nobody will want it . Maybe someone will have a clear picture for you to make your own opinion on them 😊
  5. That was well spotted Richard 😊
  6. The miners strike was tough though ☹️ Yes sorry.......Back to coins πŸ™‚
  7. Duplicate post for some reason so edited it 😊
  8. Just incase anyone wants one he may still have it , having a look was on his list only a couple of weeks ago. 1854 4/4 ........EF traces of lustre Β£60
  9. Yes thats what i believe it to be i recently sold a decent one to Dave craddock who wasnt familiar with it ,so assume there are not many of them. Pete.
  10. Thats not always the case Blake. My Dad was a miner who was as hard working as most. Living and coming from a mining town near Manchester i remember things being tough even though i was a kid πŸ™‚
  11. Its not a colon method Ian its a letter ,if they both match up you can be pretty sure and then the teeth just confirm. I am sure everyone uses different indicators and if you get the right result i dont suppose it matters 😊
  12. F10 D in F : D to Gap F13 D in F : D to tooth F10 D in D : G to tooth F13 D in D : G to Gap Then the teeth as Ian mentions F10 143 & F13 138
  13. Whenever i post they keep changing the listing...........Not doing it again 😊
  14. I notice the seller has now added a picture of his own overdate that is not the same coin. He should of used his own pictures in the first place and due to Hibernian has perhaps realised he has been rumbled. Dave groom has got it right............STEER WELL CLEAR πŸ™‚
  15. I dont have a clue as not seen the coin in hand ,although the differences in Gouby Ac and Gouby B were both explained to me by a CGS grader so they do know the difference. I think because the variety is so minuscule i would have to give them the benefit of the doubt and a couple i have had i have only been sure by looking under a glass. Either way the coin pictured is ......Not for sale on ebay ☺️
  16. Sorry typo as just been pointed out to me UIN 42402 and says on the description was purchased at LCA on the date i mentioned πŸ™‚ Also yes the coin in someone elses collection .
  17. Are these pictures of the coins sealed in plastic ? I dont have a clue but looks that way especially the 50p
  18. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Superb-Unc-1893-2-Victoria-Penny/323461050495?hash=item4b4fc7f07f:g:B0IAAOSw7E1bn-zr This is totally out of order. In a CGS slab and he does not even own it. UIN is 40402 The coin was sold at LCA 18/3/2018 LOT 2435 then put straight in a slab...I know the GUY who has it. Wonder what he is going to send the buyer instead ☹️
  19. HAT OFF Ozzy and a nice touch πŸ˜‰
  20. Often you will find diferences to Copper pennies of most years were letters / colons were re cut and repunched to continue using the same dies. Both your coins are OT Far colon after DEF, The re punched different position of colons IMO does not really mean any major variety and if it did there would be lots of different types. The main varieties for 1855 are...... OT Far colon PT Close colon OT Three colons after FID One with a DOT on Victorias Forehead.....A variety for some but only a flaw You really could go on forever Paddy ,so you can make your own judgement as to what is a variety or not πŸ˜‰
  21. Maybe if you want to find out just look at the dates from 7 to 9 rather than the full width.Gouby also mentions a different 9 i think.... as put the book away now its doing my head in πŸ˜‰
  22. Yes but as i have edited the post (at the same time) since Mike the 7 may well be closer to the 9 but still the same full width πŸ™‚
