  2. Massive thank you and a big hat off Just wanted to share my delight. Over the last couple of weeks a forum member has been telling me all about model pennies and cardboard ones YES CARDBOARD I didnt have a clue about any of them but as always keen to learn. I have just received an envelope full of them and feel like a kid on christmas day. Thank you so much CHINGFORD a true gentleman and i owe you one. Pete.

  17. Hi Ian.

    Small florescent dots as on both sides of the 1902 penny you bought are signs of live verd of which only a couple will be detrimental should you decide to sell.

    They are probably easily removed and of no concern but better to look out for.

    If a couple of dots show (live)it is always having a look at the remainder of the coin before buying.

    The live verd may now only show as spots but the remainder may have left / leave corrosion.

    Oxidisation and poor storage will leave a green tinge or colour.

    On common coins such as the 1902 better left alone.

    Its a lovely coin but take note if you start spending over £50 on another date for one.

  24. It may not be verd/corrosion but a common date and sometimes you see coins stored that show signs of blue (on bronze ) mainly from pvc ,chemicals or tinges of verd (green/bright) that will show under a bright light. Hope i have not put you off as a lovely coin for the money. Be lucky. Pete.
