  1. Yes its working george............Is that a Rhino coin
  2. Not sure if it will put me off ............We all have different reasons for someone giving an opinion and i am happy with the service they have provided. But as always interested to read your forthcoming post. Please remember its an open forum and therefore dont think everyone will clap hands and i suggest you think first before you post as only fair. Easy to say negatives and unfortunately we dont say hat off enough Easy to find faults with most people (myself included) sometimes worth giving them the chance to reply rather than SHOUT. Dont know what your comments will be but enjoy Christmas and all the best. Pete.
  3. Hi george and welcome to the forum . Pete.
  4. Obviously with them being so scarce, you're lucky to get a halfway reasonable one. What are yours like then, Pete? Rang tang ....one c.g.s. slabbed and another thats not much better
  5. Well its not that funny i have sent £35
  6. 1949 yes they are scarce ,cant tell much from the photo. As mentioned earlier and although i have a couple and one slabbed (problem free ) ,better to have one like your own with more detail ?.
  7. Thanks Bernie. Is there a degreaser that we can try and get hold of ,or can you tell us the name of the banned one . Dont think anyone would blame you and sure they would have a practice first. Pete.
  8. Bernie ,unfortunately some of the scarce ones it seems to be a case of put up with the problem or dont have one IMO and your the expert. Can you give any tips to us novices on what you did ?. Jerry never having used verdicare is it worth me buying a bottle to try on some cheap COPPPERS ?.........i.e.PRACTICE I dont buy any to sell but have accumulated about twenty scarce copper varieties and would like to preseve them ?.
  9. Its not porn Matt and you have to be over 30 years old
  10. Interesting question i mentioned to a forum member the other day. I have a 1862 halfpenny date its in fine so a lot better than a washer but has a spot of corrosion/verd. Would you prefer one if its scarce/the same coin..... problem free or lesser grade thats ok ?. Might sound daft but i have a few that wont IMO slab but was happy to buy them as scarce in grade.
  11. As mentioned in the original title Jerry...... honesty or knowledge ................Maybe greed ?.
  12. Didnt realise you were on about that one ,yes better to have one problem free.
  13. F8 at £376 was a really good buy ,wish i had only paid that
  14. Just paid £35 John Lets have ago and test the results properly on copper ,if you have some instructions let me know what works best. All the best and happy christmas. Pete.
  15. Really interested and thank you for your post. I am intrigued and for the last twelve month really just focused on copper pennies 1825-59. I would not intentionally buy a coin to change its natural condition.....Would prefer a really nice one and problem free However can you sell me a bottle and allow me to post the results , alternatively sure you will have some photographs ?. Some copper pennies i have bought are considered scarce(other members)will agree, some may not. Would be happy to send you some pictures ?. Although scarce means some have problems and i would not consider sending to get slabbed and be rejected. I would still prefer to conserve them in a good condition, not interested in selling them. I have a few bronze also such as a nice 1862 halfpenny date,1862 three plumes etc that both have a small verd spot although fine + condition. I mention the above as not looking at £20 coins that i would not of bought in the first place and understand not a remedy for corrosion. Really without listing loads of varieties and condition would be really interested in any of your comments. Thank you and Keep smiling . Pete.
  16. Paulus interested to see how you go on and please try it on a couple of coppers.......... maybe with a couple of before and after pictures. Dont see any problem at all using acetone if just a quick dip or gently used with a cotton bud.
  17. Think i need to get a larger computer screen Dave
  18. Not sure on the obverse but its not a halfpenny date.
  19. Yes i especially like that 1878
  20. Both 6+G, a bead width surely cannot be offered As another variety and become finest known, thats just crazy or money making Crazy...yes possibly but that depends on the individual who is buying it. Money making i dont think so and neither attracts a premium on the CGS chart. The thing is in fairness if a coin is referenced thats what they will slab it as , although a few have gone unnoticed.
  21. Two different varieties Dave ?.
  22. Without people posting the site would be boring and i would not be looking all the time Happy to send them and keep looking and learning Be lucky will post Monday.
  23. He's that type of guy, Pete. Responded to me within a few hours over a query I had about my F69, a year or so back. Top bloke. Yes i dont like to ask if i have not bought the coin from him but had a reply straight away in the past. If your reading Michael sorry if your now inundated with questions
