  1. This one though anyone could spot. My personal opinion is they get that many its like a conveyer belt and to busy just putting then in slabs. None of the graders are perfect and mistakes are made. Although i think with CGS more often its a typing error and will always re attribute. The person doing the tickets is not a grader, believe me the main graders do understand the varieties of English pennies of which i can only comment on. Pete.
  2. Any forum members going tomorrow ?. I wasnt going too as only interested in a couple but might make the trip now Pete.
  3. Over the last few years not seen many go below low estimate at LCA Not having online bidding obviously works for them.
  4. In. Time to be part of the bigger picture
  5. Does that happen at LCA Matt
  6. Your bid can also relate to what the bidding starts at.. Ie. You bid £300. They start with your bid but at £280 .....someone in the room bids £300. They would take the one in the room.
  7. Forget the email Jon. You have left it a bit late and as you have not bid before better to check. I would phone as they might also ask for some card details if its an expensive coin should your bid be the highest. If two people bid the same ,they sell to the person who bid first
  8. I am also expecting to be there ,but got the boxing in Liverpool the night before and the wife in Spain. So anything could happen
  9. As an example i bought this last year . Halfpenny date they are quite rare. It has some faults but seen some worse. I would not like something really horrible but filled a gap.
  10. Nice clear date and quite easy to spot in that condition. Thanks.
  11. I wasnt looking at it from a buying point of view. Just thought it looked OK.
  12. Not my thing ,but why Jon Whats wrong with it ?. I would not really have a clue ,but looks ok to me
  13. Hi Colin. As i have one slabbed VF (CGS) would be interested to see the Picture from PCGS or the UIN. Thank you. Pete.
  14. What do you think grade wise Jon ?. Decent pictures aswell
  15. Another good one Chris.........Hat off Keep posting on the forum a few penny collectors on here as your probably aware
  16. Will ask him after the seller has stopped bouncing round the rubber room
  17. He will reply personally ..........Soon. Just watching some cartoons before the trolley comes round
  18. Really good find Chris. The numbers as far as 15/16 are a bit dated but still Scarce. Hat off
  19. Can only comment on the pennies and the seller can be completely out of order with his attribution. The guy sells pennies without H ,mules, rare varieties and all are wrong Also sold KN pennies that have been added.........anyway dont want to disturb him as he is busy in his workshop..........FACT. Infact with some varieties he has sold more than are known to exist. Pete.
  20. Happy to fill a gap on the coppers Think its hard to get one UNC so this will do. 1831 with WW . Its the ex-alderley one Lot 41.
  21. Same Guy that has been mentioned loads of times on here. Altered dates ,mules ,missing this and that . He is starting to wind me up and lives near me Was selling KN ,H that were not right infact the only ones i have noted he has admitted to were 1933 altered dates. Tell him what your looking for and he will make you one tonight .
