  1. Wish i had found the same one a few years ago for £10. Also Ian worth looking at the coin for grade then switching the light on as will show any marks better. Pete.
  2. That one is spot on for looking at a full coin and for £10 not worth messing around. You can buy all sorts but for at home perfect. You would however look a bit of a NOODLE carrying one round at a coin fair as quite big
  3. Sorry Ian for any confussion. The thread i started last night i assumed was the same one as this The one i mentioned is a hand held magnifier for viewing a full coin.
  4. The one i mentioned at the start of the thread is spot on ,i have one i paid considerably more for. The one i mentioned was for my grandaughter as she now insists on using mine all the time (she is only three) and is perfect for a full coin and you dont need to use the light switch for it to work. The light is just an option.
  5. Done and welcome to the forum. Do i get something FREE in return
  6. I have five and just had a look at them. Needless to say they are all normal
  7. No its not for taking pictures or using with a computer. Just a nice large hand held one with An LED light with a couple of batteries. Nothing fantastic but much better than a loupe IMO easier to view with the large lens. The one linked to a computer that i have found best value for the money is the andonstar one for about £40/£50 I now a couple of people can recommend others but they are closer to £1k Thats more for close ups a microscope and will allow you to take and edit pictures of overdates etc. But not any use for a full coin. Pete.
  8. Received yesterday a nice magnifier. Big lens LED light and 10x magnification. Its hand held big and easier to use than a loupe. They are on amazon as...... Reading magnifier . 10 x 75 MM LED with two batteries . One of the sellers is 1 dealeben (i dont have a clue who he is ) just used him as an example who is selling them. About £10.99 but really good and large ,perfect for home use. I am not selling them but worth a look at. Pete.
  9. Cant believe i missed it. The seller has missed out on that one. Should of sent the seller a message. Would of been along the lines of F O ....U Daft............
  10. Poised and ready good buy will bid in a couple of minutes.
  11. Massive thank you and a big hat off Just wanted to share my delight. Over the last couple of weeks a forum member has been telling me all about model pennies and cardboard ones YES CARDBOARD I didnt have a clue about any of them but as always keen to learn. I have just received an envelope full of them and feel like a kid on christmas day. Thank you so much CHINGFORD a true gentleman and i owe you one. Pete.
  12. What the bright picture has done Jon is shown that tiny dot on the breastplate of the reverse. Do me a favour and flick it off ...........its bugging me
  13. Throw it in the bin ........
  14. Should of said. The coin in the first picture Jon..................RANG TANG
  15. They are all really nice and Hat off
  16. Hi Ian.

Small florescent dots as on both sides of the 1902 penny you bought are signs of live verd of which only a couple will be detrimental should you decide to sell.

They are probably easily removed and of no concern but better to look out for.

If a couple of dots show (live)it is always having a look at the remainder of the coin before buying.

The live verd may now only show as spots but the remainder may have left / leave corrosion.

Oxidisation and poor storage will leave a green tinge or colour.

On common coins such as the 1902 better left alone.

Its a lovely coin but take note if you start spending over £50 on another date for one.

    Pete.

  17. It may not be verd/corrosion but a common date and sometimes you see coins stored that show signs of blue (on bronze ) mainly from pvc ,chemicals or tinges of verd (green/bright) that will show under a bright light. Hope i have not put you off as a lovely coin for the money. Be lucky. Pete.
  18. Its a lovely coin and for the money was a good buy Its only my opinion and thats all...... so maybe i am being picky,i dont have it in hand. A lot of the reverse does not just look like dirt and thats my only question. On the reverse between the P in penny and the tide line ,just wondered what was going on ?. Its a nice coin for the money though ,so maybe just me Happy collecting and just wrapped the FOC penny up..... and will post tomorrow Pete.
  19. IAN its definately AUNC ....IMO But you have the coin in hand Being Honest mate on the larger pictures may not of been stored brilliantly, but still nice. But if you paid the right money thats the main thing
  20. Happy hunting mate. Its nice when you find one that is different. Be lucky and keep smiling. Pete.
  21. Brian. When you start looking at most copper pennies closely they all/most have differences and have been recut or different. The scarcer ones are more obvious such as on Richards site of which the time well spent looking. This means they are easier to spot on Ebay pictures etc. Pete.
  22. Again cant get rid of this................ Matt. Gary schindler will point you to the thread on this forum or help. He has a couple. Pete
  23. Alfnail knows his coppers and some quality pictures
  24. To be honest....and i am being A couple i will buy ,prepared to pay well over the odds. The proofs dont do anything for me ...so i am out. If i bought one proof would then be spending time and money looking for all of them Thats about it really . Pete.
