  1. Thanks Dave, I may well be sending you a few for the May grading session, I don't think I'lll be able to make the imminent one (but it might be possible)
  2. Do they send them to the US for grading? (i.e. is in on-site submissions or on-site grading?)
  3. Next up, the latest addition to my Kempson's Birmingham Buildings Conder Halfpenny mini collection (I now have 16 out of the 27) This one also has some nice provenance, being ex Sven Gahlin collection
  4. A few newbies worthy of sharing (hopefully!) This lovely Warwickshire County Conder Halfpenny Token is ex Richard Dalton (of Dalton and Hamer fame). It's an effigy of the upstart crow (Shakespeare) on the obv.
  5. That's a very good point Gary - so even those 'contemporary' cases from, say, 1906, weren't issued with the coins?
  6. This is my OT 1854, the colon after the R on the reverse is also very low (lower than the example in your pics?). It has been slabbed and authenticated, hope it helps (a bit) even if it's not a PT!
  7. Hi

I'm interested in the 1888 groat you have listed on eBay (UIN 31693) - what's the very best you could do outside of eBay?

  8. I'm assuming it's a half crown? I love this design, it's my avatar
  9. Boy those are nice examples! DH 63-70 inclusive is York, so 8 different designs + varieties
  10. Lovely coin, auction win?
  11. Yes I have loads with ships on, here's my Liverpool example (there are many many varieties of this one!)
  12. Recent addition, this is a Gosport (Hampshire) halfpenny Conder token
  13. This is D&H Yorkshire 64, or 64a if it has a plain edge. Regarded by D&H as very rare (64a) or scarce (64)
  14. Paint.net - it's free and brilliant
  15. Thanks Rob, here's my example, that I'm wondering about. I think I'm in the 45/45 camp ...
  16. Hoping someone can shed some light ... Bull/ESC lists the 45/45 variety (ESC 1686 (604A)) but not the 45/3, while Spink lists the 45/3 but not the 45/45 - do both exist, are the both the same but with a different 'interpretation', or is there a mistake in 1 of these reference books?
  17. Lovely Rob, My gunmoney halfcrown example happens to be May 1690 also
  18. The first of this week's newbies (farthing)
  19. The more common 'shield in garter' (S. 3808) type, my 1821 covers off the 'garnished shield' type (S. 3807)
