  1. And there were only 2,000 Northumberlands I believe, which wouldn't make much of a dent in the demand for shillings and most probably didn't circulate ...
  2. I remember you saying so after the grading results came through (a few years ago now!) It seems to me that it is very hard to find them fairly nicely struck on the centre of the rev, most seem to have that slightly mushy look
  3. A few of my half crowns, a bit late to the party!
  4. The edge inscription reads " PUBLISHED BY R. LODER 1796 . X . ", as confirmed on the main reference material (Dalton & Hamer) Good question, I must try and learn how to photograph edges!
  5. Newbie, Suffolk Woodbridge Penny Conder token, 1796
  6. My upgrade has arrived. OP example for sale if anyone is interested.
  7. Something's gone wrong (for me) in the Copper Tokens thread, so I will post this newbie here, seeing as it's a penny ... 1796 Birmingham copper penny token by Thomas Wyon
  8. Does anyone (else) have one of these? I'm have been finding it extremely difficult to locate these in decent condition (better than GF really) but I'm hopefully about to upgrade this one soon. Seems scarcer than merely 'Scarce' (ESC) to me!
  9. Nothing like as interesting, but nicely toned!
  10. This one is D&H 50a, edge "PAYABLE AT CLOUGHER OR IN DUBLIN"
  11. Apparently it's the arms of the Hardy family consisting of a shield with four hedgehogs and a hedgehog crest
  12. Newbie Birmingham Conder token with an early Monty Python shield
  13. I don't think it's a proof, they have thicker rims for one thing - here's mine for comparison: Also, MS61 (equivalent to AUNC) is a pretty low grade for a proof
  14. A few more toned silver coins that may have disappeared, or have not been seen by newbies ...
