  1. My pic of the Sandwich token, the best of the three
  2. Thanks, yes I did! I had no idea that the Tenterden area was a major shipbuilding naval port until the rivers silted up. Sandwich one has the Cinque Ports Coat of Arms.
  3. My partner lives in Folkestone, I got them online when I got back
  4. 3 newbies acquired this week, all Kent tokens from places I visited last weekend
  5. My comment was 'tongue in cheek', it's fabulous!
  6. My immediate reaction given past experience is that this must be a copy, anyone have a different view? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311876270618?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  7. Yes, fabulous!!
  8. Only 12 episodes made, every one a gem
  9. Just a way of 'tagging' someone. useful I think ... @Nordle11 introduced it to the Forum a while back I think when he became an Admin, mind you I don't think he has posted on here for a while ...
  10. It simply notifies Neil about this message, so more chance that he will see it - nothing more!
  11. @NRPplease include Rob on the Baldwins at St James catalogue mailing list!
  12. A little longer than that I hope Rob! Your wants are very different to mine, I was commenting on the quality of the hard copy catalogue, must have cost a lot to produce! There are a number of very early pennies, no idea if any of them are of interest to you in terms of mint/moneyer etc! Get back on their mailing list!
  13. I'm impressed with the quality of this catalogue that landed today
  14. And it's a big welcome from me too, you'll get a lot out of this community, particularly if it's English pre-decimal coins that float your boat
  15. Welcome LGS As 1949 says, try to sort them a little first, and then many of us on here can advise once you post some pics, especially of pre-1971 British coins. If most of them are in bags it does not suggest rarity or high value, but you never know. Any pre-1947 silver-coloured British coins will contain at least 50% real silver, so they wil be worth their silver content at a minimum
  16. More appalling quality control (or more likely, specification), I have long since lost interest in modern decimals. Apart from being able to find them in your change from time to time, I am missing something as far as collectability goes!
  17. 1891 Keeper acquired, old CGS pics I will try and post better! Loving the definition in the shield!
  18. Yes 0.5g off is quite a lot, do you have pics?
  19. I have an 1812 I am happy with
  20. 15g according to Tony Clayton's site! http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/coins.html
  21. He even states it's not genuine ...
