  1. I think they are not to be relied upon, I have this die no. 49 1878 shilling which I'm (fairly) sure is fourth head Bull 3051 even though the maximum die number is stated as 47
  2. Sterling work gentlemen! Looked them up online somehow, or in something you have locally?
  3. Thanks Rob - looks like Bull downgraded it to R2 in the latest edition, for what it's worth!
  4. This no stops on obv 6d I'm considering comes with 2 tickets, anyone recognise the collector / dealer from them?
  5. The 1911 proofs are often very nicely toned, due, it is thought by many, to the materials in the box the set came in. Discussed and shown before, but here's mine - I think it's truly beautiful
  6. Not at all, I much appreciate the spade work! I don't have the SNCs in question, are you able to display the pics from them at all?
  7. I'm finalising due diligence on this piece, here's the provenance the seller has provided but would like to know more about such a striking coin ... hoping someone can help? @Rob? The provenance so far is superb of course, I would like to go back further! Provenance: Spink Numismatic Circular 1985 (£850) Spink Numismatic Circular 1986 (£850) Spink Auction 117, 1996 £605 hammer ex Coins of Britain 2016 Ex Maurice Bull Collection
  8. Just landed - ticks plenty of boxes for me, including my first triangle mm example, my first 3a2 with rough groundline (S 2776), full weight (15.05g), and the Bull plate coin (383b/32)

  10. Blimey, well done, which one have you still to acquire? I have a few still to get, including the Workhouse one. I've just upgraded my St Martin's Church example:
  11. Just wondered if I could prick the interest of fellow Charles I halfcrown collectors, or ask for opinions I have been concentrating on Tower Mint types this last year or so, here's a montage of my best so far. Some are Brooker and/or Bull plate coins.
  12. Another newbie, type 3a3, ex Bull

  13. Before the crisis, 2-4 months. No turnaround deadlines or commitments given. Varies partly due to London Coins Auctions activity.
  14. Another newbie, apparently a rare die pairing and the illustrated coin for Bull 104a, bt SR Porter 1986 Rose over plume / rose, 14.98g
  15. Welcome! Let's see your best bits!
  16. Thanks both. Here are my pics of it, I'll be leaving all the wax where it is
  17. I've just acquired this (seller's pics) - I believe it to be S. 2764 1a2. It has wax on the reverse, presumably for cataloguing purposes back in the day - can anyone identify it as an example that may have appeared in a book/catalogue? Bit of a long shot perhaps, but thanks in advance!
  18. Getting there, slowly, with this series .... just landed
