  1. Several catalogues in there i'd liké to try and find, but a curious question, has there been a large dispersement of ER I coinage, would like something on this also
  2. Perhaps not Neil unless error is the same person
  3. Good excuse for a BBQ
  4. Stop using internet explorer
  5. You may need help with the candles now though. Have a good one (null)
  6. as i said Sword, paying customers take a baxkseat when it comes to auction fever which personally i think is wrong
  7. Stephen Lockett owns both LC and CGS so i would say thats 100% Paul
  8. Perhaps poor picture coupled with aye phone viewing but i see wear in the orb onthr REV, beard looks to have wear also, conservitavely grading as its difficult with the given picture. Tails of the 3 lions bottom right has wear unless its the picture
  9. Still an expensive coin
  10. Well, after a small arguement with the seller and me sending him my picture of my i.m tun shilling he's seen sense and taken it down, mine has the tun mark fully struck and shows the edges which are a little serated on the edge of the mark which i assume he thought were the fingers of the hamd i.m of ER I No apologies though
  11. Yes, around11 years
  12. From the hand mark of ER I to the TUN. Mark is around 46 years and a king inbetween, so in theory why would'nt James I use it if the spot priceof silver was higher during his reign? The man is just looking for a stooge
  13. His explaination Under magnification it shows hand mm. Charles 1 did not have this mm. Charles 1 also re purposed other rulers coinage during desperate times. Information on Charles 1 re purposing past rulers coinage is limited. I'm not an expert on English coin oddities such as this one. The information I've provided is what I discovered through my own research. All input is welcome as these pieces are not well documented, and I'm always interested in learning.
  14. This is apparently an ElizabethI coin 281512936808
  15. Yup, thats a drooler
  16. Based on 20% commission that runs at around £1150, so someone i's hoping for a quick large profit. It will be interesting to see where it lands, whats LCs selling commission? I think 10%. Good on them? it's a bit of a risk as it's gonna have to hammer at just shy of £1300 to break even. Coming from America There will also be 5% import duty On the initial outlay so it has to sell at around £1400 to break Even. What lot number is it in LCs?

  18. The price of a 1918KN (or any such scarcity) is not really relevant, especially as you seem to have plucked a single price guide 'out of the air' so to speak. A coin like that will go for whatever someone is prepared to pay for it, and if that someone has deep pockets then what it says in price guides can be safely ignored. Yet on a different occasion, the same coin may go for half the amount as on the first. Your strategy - if bidding - is to bid up to the maximum you are prepared to pay for it, and to hell with the price guides. 2k ouch
  19. Yes i thought it more practical to be able to buy either or but i assume Spink don't want the decimal book sitting around on their shelves which it probably would, hence the reason you're buying both books
  20. I always ask the boss to get me a new spink book each year. Now it's im two part (which i believe you Have To buy The two) and it's now costing £30
