I suspect they've forgotten about submissions while grading for the upcoming LC auction, this is why i have a dislike for CGSGRADED because the auction will take preference over people who are actually paying for grading which is unfair IMHO

I'm not sure you'd get 5 Coins graded for the lower membership. For that i think you just become a member and the send coins and Pay whatever the value is. Must look at this again

The RD, RB and BN is 99% for the Americans who are All but lazy, these are pennies and IMO not a huge fanbase for them over there because as soon as they get slabbed like that by NGC Or PCGS they are then put On ebay AT massives inflated prices and even Then the Brits won't go Near them either due To price. On the subject of NGCS, There i's an office Here in Munich and they will arrange everything from postage and customs forms etc, with a 6 week turnaround. If you become a member at the $200 entry level you get 5 free gradings.

To be honest i think to insure that amount of coins in both directions you'd be better sending them to CGS, IMO ESPECIALLY at this time of year full insurance would be a must. Why send so many when you could also send just 1 for the experience and the rest to CGS?

I Would say first And foremost that good pictures help Better when asking about grade. OBV has visible wear To The hair and beard i'd go with VF, the REV is Better and i'd say GVF. Points of wear On the REV are the highest points, Britannias Fingers Holding the trident, There i's visible wear, the breastplate and also the shield, those are the things to look out for. The middle to average collector cannot afford 1000GBP to Shell out on coins, the cost of living now in the UK with pressure of heating/fuel/taxes and generally being screwed by the Government for as much as they can get from the poorer collector means those People are priced right out of those type of Prices. I personally collect coins in hopefully high grades, but also at an affordable Price, when/if the time Comes to sell any of These coins then they would also be affordable to the next collector as they won't be 1000GBP or upwards but would hopefully give me a return on what i've paid out for them. Pauls other Point of the Internet is also true, what would it have been like back in 1896 if the Internet was around then coupled with digital photography, perhaps those famous collections would'nt have been so famous if those were avaliable at the time. I collect with the thought in mind that when the time Comes to sell, my coins will be affordable to the next man and in grades that are These days good Quality, but first and foremost i collect for me, but also bear in mind that These might go sometime during my collecting life.

CGS are'nt international nor are they big enough to be dictating prices and have never understood why people would buy at a price suggested by them for a grade. They are however they best at British coins. The recent 1860 halfpenny i got they had a slabbed CGS80 and valued it at £750

I think Paulus hit the nail on the head with "eveloution of a collector" we all start at humble beginnings of being a collector, whether we've stumbled into collecting or something was handed down or started/stopped amd recently started AGAIN as a child And now into adulthood. Habits change, coin preferences change and appeal of certain coinage changes as well as disposable income. Many things are factored in when buying Coins and it will inevitably change through the passing of time with the above factors. I doubt 75% here are 100% happy with what we have but the searching is a most satisfying part when you find something that you know might not be rivaled.
