BP = Blood Pressure...the silent killer...salt is a no no(that is why salt content is indicated on many foodstuffs) As long as your coins are not kept next to your car should be OK. Rain will obviously contain a high salt content hence the rust on your car.
I can understand your concern regarding salt in the air. However if it was that bad everyone on the coast would die early because of high BP etc. The same could be said of industrial areas or wetter areas . A centrally heated house with coins stored within the property and not against external walls is probably the best bet. Common sense should prevail.
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Proof...nearly Sphinx ref http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/X2-SILVER-GEORGE-V-SHILLINGS-IN-NERALY-PROOF-CONDITION-/221310850595?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item3387279623
OK Gents We are chewing the fat on a 1927 proof/currency shilling. What are your opinions on early strikes? Where do these sit in your "must haves"? Some of the George V copper is renowned for weak strikes. I was wondering if anyone has conclusive evidence of an early strike.
The simple solution is to send it back. I've bought just 2 coins from them and have no plans for a 3rd. The thing is their stocks are massive (I wonder why?) It is the same with a major (non internet) dealer always at fairs who has a fantastic stock list but prices are . I always look at their coins and then move on.
Richard You've endured 5 days of restlessness and no doubt computer related dreams. With computers I know it is a throwaway society. Why anyone buys anything but the budget range beats me. The £1500 laptop becomes the £300 budget spec in a year. Using my method you just end up with a load of hard drives (and some useful spares ) Pop the gubbings up into the loft for an antique of the future.(I wonder how many 286's are still about?) I've just bitten the bullet and replaced my Acer screen...it was touch and go but my Acer is just so nice.
I've bought coins from him over the years. Maybe I'm lucky but have been very happy with the coins / price. They say there is nothing such as bad publicity.I still do a search on his coins when at a loose end.
It's interseting that the colour on that coin exactly replicate the tempering colours for heating metal. Tempering_colors_in_steel.jpg Bloody hell The heated coin looks like it could clear $200,000 I shall have a chat with my plummer tomorrow.

Block the crap sellers. Gradually build up your list. Ebay were meant to limit sales to 100 listings per month. This doesn't seem to work. When you get stuff like this it is cringeworthy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290953441637?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 trouble is punters occasionally actually buy this tat.
