  1. Sorry Stewie Hammered fart I've have currently Quest on the TV and they are doing Sardines. Now where are my mushrooms?
  2. A very belated from me....I hope you had a few prawns on the Barbie. It is my turn on Saturday and Mrs Peter should be getting me a bag of crab claws and some Hereforder Pils (if not Greene King Abbot)
  3. Not bias at all but I hope Cameron gets another term.Look what a mess he took over.
  4. Dave 50 ODD Scottish MP's sums it up.
  5. In days gone by Thurston Rugby reports used to include R Sleeker,Hugh Janus and Knobby Rimmer. The obvious Mike Hunt often replaced Knobby after a rough scrum. These reports were in the local paper and our local landlord set challenges. Norma (landlady)and Nickorless the pole would be cheering us along behind the posts. In the small adds in the local paper we got Orgasm bag colour tan £2...many enquiries. Another hoot was the dancing of the flaming arseholes when about 10 ft of toilet roll was gently inserted up ones bottom and the set alight. You bloody ran an fast as you could (Scottish tour Ayr,Adrossen in the 80's) No need for a back, sack and crack....without the crack it was 33% discount. I'm now sensible member of society Only 5 ft of toilet paper and caught within 10 yds...secret is don't fart.
  6. Good luck with your venture but it seems like a buyers and sellers cut is in there.. Maybe a lazy money no object collector might be interested but I like to use my knowledge as an edge. I win some but lose more but the ones I win are within my limits so it is happy days. 2,500 sellers you are having a laugh. I used to order pizza through a 3rd party.I now get 20% off by going direct...simples
  7. I could do several write ups on Farthings as I'm sure Colin can. With Stuart,Richard,Dave,Clive etc on selected hammered issues. What peeves me is the like of 1915 1/4's close and near TT's and only CCGB notes this. Open 2 1842 farthings the list could go on. I bought an open 2 from Sweden but the premium is for me only.
  8. Rob has some classic coins which he has researched and burnt the midnight oil. The 1689 could take up a nice chapter plus other rarities. I'm not saying it will or would ever be complete but there is so much to be learnt and not just in random journals. Maybe we could all chip in. Call it freak coins or coins not considered by Spink. I'm sure it would be a unique publication. Robs 1689 is a beaut but the general coin press miss so much. A few write ups would be fantastic. We all have our subjects. Spink/Coin year book miss so much. Spink improved on 1ds a few years back but fall short on most milled. We could all contribute to make our 2nd £million
  9. Just found out my BP was 220/110 when taken to hospital.....off the scale. Man flu is worse. Nothing to really joke about. I do have a fear of Dr's/ Dentist's/hospitals and Mrs Peters cooking.
  10. A unique coin Rob.You can't put a price on a gem like that especially as mentioned in Peck. What are your intentions for your collection?/library? ....and when are we going to get a book rather than an article in a journal.
  11. I actually like it a lot. I hope the mint does individual countries on very low mintage's to encourage collectors or my be die nrs on a few.
  12. Mrs Peter wanted to call the Dr as I had turned green looking at Rob's coin.
  13. Thanks for the good wishes. It was my nephews/godsons wedding in North Yorkshire this Saturday but was advised not to travel Hotel/Kennel cancelled and my sister is travelling down tomorrow to pick up my mum and aunt. My daughters are travelling up with their boyfriends and making a holiday of it.Mr nephew Dr Hull (very proud) will hopefully get a visit in the summer when everything has settled down. I will try and coincide with the Wakefield coin fair . It was my 1st in patient visit and the whole experience was way over expectations fantastic but under staffed. The village where I live has an ambulance which tends to park up on the Drs surgeries carpark (we have a couple of old peoples homes) and it can cover all the surrounding villages in a much shorter time.I can assure you it is busy and a Godsend for us yokels. Mrs Peter has given me permission to coin it for a few days as long as I do tea duties and knock together a few meals. Seems fair. Don't want to feel like this again and Debbie red wine / booze is not even on the agenda to any excess and has been the same for a long time. Not to have another pint of ABBOT or RUDDLES would kill me off. My mum had a stent fitted at 55 and is still singing and dancing at 81. Take care the lot of you.
  14. On Sunday morning I felt unwell. Heart was racing and balance was dodgy. So we went to the A&E. After 4 hours I was seen, blood taken and BP checked.(BP 210 ) A look of concern and an ECG was required. Results of the ECG and I was admitted to the hospital (take your overnight bag was mentioned) Many tests, X-Ray of the chest,BP and blood sugar taken every few hours. I have had 4 saline drips and 4 Vitamin B drips and BP pills increased. I still felt dizzy and ill. Monday and starting to feel better (another night in hospital) Today I was seen again by another of the hospital doctors. BP down and feeling much better. I pleaded to go home. Once the paperwork was completed Mrs Peter could come and get me. A couple more pills to take and a visit to the GP next week plus the diabetes nurse ( I have type 2 controlled by diet) I must say the nurses and Drs were brilliant and overworked. Also anyone who still smokes on a regular basis think about giving up the wards are full of them. I'm not out of the woods yet but it is great to be home.
  15. I had a foreign gent working for me.Through a major contractor. He would work every scam. I eventually told the Contractor to get rid of (enough is enough) I even spoke to him face to face and he just grinned. I reckon he did !0k of fraud in 12 months...bus companies etc He got his time sheets signed from the project manager and then added in weekends. It wasn't just him but they were all on it including the project manager....East London A earthmoving claim I worked on in Coventry proved that the lorries could average 90mph.
  16. Keep your lap top away from the fridge. I would love to retire but Mrs Peter has this list
  17. That ticks the boxes. Beautiful coin.
  18. Dukes estimates are strange (and wide) Talk about hedging your bets
  19. Almost stole your thunder Dave.
  20. This is the seller that wouldn't send a 1882 no H 1d to another forum member because it went too cheap. He has sold some nice coins.
  21. One of my grandfathers said only a good German is a dead one. Time moves on. He had served in Africa in the 2nd world war. I mentioned I had met Germans in Spain in the early 80's and we all had a great laugh and enjoyed their company. He couldn't accept it. I have found all of the Germans I have met are polite/educated not Q jumping and have a good sense of humor. I can only go on my impression. Nice people in my experience For the ones I have met. Don't forget they got a good slapping too when it wasn't 99% of German public's fault. I saw on facebook where V2 rockets fell in the UK. Likewise their city's destroyed. It must NEVER happen again. Lets just take the French out and divide the country....dirty soap dodgers
  22. Hi Mathew Great to see you posting again. I also like the latest obverse. It is life like for a lady in her 80's she is still regal and a credit to the Commonwealth.
  23. Gary I would appreciate the info as well. Cheers Peter
  24. They are farthings issued in the 17C. Currency coins many with brass wedges. They can be graded but eye appeal every time for me. Many are found in and around the Thames (ferry price to cross) There are a couple of books on them and a few experts about. Start by looking at Colincooke.com and take it from there. Also see aboutfarthings.
