  1. Greed will always be a factor. I've only got 6 slabbed coins and 4 of them were purchased from Colincooke.(None are CGS)
  2. Rob there are several methods if you use google.
  3. I do the Midland about 4x per year. Kids too old to take to the hotel(plus they avoid losing their social life) Last time we left them at home there were drugs and complaints from neighbours. Dog and two cats take preference for Mrs Peter so it is sad 250 mile round trip. I have several favourite dealers next time I will search out forum members.
  4. Bloody internet. Midland Fair is my place to be.
  5. Nice piece of pewter. I'm off to bed with Kelly Brooke and miss Minogue....wake me up in October
  6. A good farthing man.
  7. Prax Nice coin. What did you swap it for?
  8. It is copper scrap and no more.
  9. Better than sex copper. I was heading for a meeting in London. M11 was static so took a turn off for a quick evacuation. Relieved but found out later I was probably on CCTV.(Royal Mint ) I should of kept it quiet....My emails THAT DAY. Stoppage due to chemical spill Good mates etc. Why didn't I stop at Stansted?....but who would unless flying. Moral story here I don't do curry before an early start. I have also been locked in a BP garage loo's at 5am in Newmarket. Too much info I only work locally now with OCCASIONAL ventures out in bandit area,s I've done my time. An ice breaker for the Contract.

  14. There is a product called verdicare which can give good results.
  15. Aiden has been kicked off most forums. He used call himself Aiden work. A complete tw@t.
  16. Dave It will get worse my pension pot wouldn't feed the local blue tits. Get the Which mag and my advice is to pay off mortgages and buy antiques.....another can of worms. I do like George 1/2nd furniture. Learn a lot from Lovejoy. I have a good pal who is a fine arts auctioneer. Investment is an opinion no more or less go from the heart and if you enjoy coins I can't see a problem. In our conservatory I have a special table full of goodies, arrow heads, amber, fossils, musket balls, flint scrapers gold and silver ingots,a flick knife dads and grandads medals and a picture of my penis when it was 10" long,,,,sadly it has shrunk an inch....but my balls are bigger.
  17. Keep it raw and save a bundle.. TPG's are the so so wrong. If you can't grade a coin you should not be collecting
  18. Equitable Life have done me proud.....I have swapped funds and made a lot of money. A good pot of coffee and a decent bit of meat in the oven sorts out a lot...plus the Sunday papers...Sunday sport excluded.....although the rump exposed has burnt off a few calories
  19. My pension pot is about £150 k We own our house (about 50 k mortgage and a value of £300k plus) We also have a £200k bungalow paid up. I have friends who have retired on pensions....yes less than 50 and get a whacking pension. My brother in law got £100K and yet still gets £500 a day for freelancing my sister has got a huge pension....great for my family and daughters treated like princesses . I have worked in London and took a 4hr round trip.My daughters call me the man in a dressing gown. Something is wrong...I'm 54 and worked my bollocks off. I wanted to be a copper and not just a collector every day.
  20. A 1835 2/6 has been on my wish list for a long time...at the right price. I also have a YH 1887 2/6 which floats my boat. I bought a PCGS MS65 1893 slabbed florin from CC and would like to get the year set. This interests me as I have the cu and a complete year set is kind of a back burner target. Any George 1 cu is a must Mr Croker I salute you.
  21. This arrived yesterday and have had my nose in it. Excellent advice which you can research further. One thing is obvious....tell the life insurance that you have high BP,smoke, drink and you can get a better annuity. I can smell a Porsche lurking although my godmother sent me a birthday card with an E Type jag on it.... oh the choice...Lotus. They also included the latest Which mag for £1 All I have to do is cancel the subscription before 21/4/15. When my mother worked as a librarian at the local college I could always borrow back copies. Pays for itself if you want independent advice on white goods.
  22. I would have to include a spade guinea a 1717 farthing and a pair of 1698 farthings (I have them all) William and Mary coins with clear dates are also up there (cu I have a few)
  23. Thanks Dave. Toilet roll in the fridge overnight Mrs Peter can't handle the heat. I add chilly flakes to bring out a decent sweat. Bought a Toshiba now to add a few favourites
  24. Daughters bought me KFC (last night) Mrs Peter is making a prawn curry tonight Mum has given me £100 and then my trusted laptop goes bonkers.(repairs over £150) Oh well I'm going to get a new one tomorrow (I do back up) (I do quite like Mrs Peters neat little laptop )
  25. I have North 1 so will check later. It is my birthday Saturday and my mother and Mrs Peter have a day out for me. Hopefully it will be the Fitzwilliam in Cambridge followed by a Japanese flag ring sting with adequate toilet rolls in the freezer. I have been after Hereforder Pils and hopefully the weekend should be better than the last couple.
