  1. I'm looking forward to your email to the seller.
  2. E1, 9b.
  3. I feel sorry for the kid... http://www.westernmorningnews.co.uk/Schoolboy-finds-Tudor-coin-snowball/story-26040533-detail/story.html
  4. This is at the BM now. Some more links: http://finds.org.uk/news/story/266 https://vine.co/v/OUtHE3zm6z2 Also had an Agnus Dei - I've handled a few in my time but few as good as this: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lmdb78tcmot9ktt/AABAaUUp6HXXhTEBB9IgRvQwa?dl=0#lh:null-Lenborough%20coin%20Agnus%20Dei.jpg
  5. Henry III, Giffrei on London. Class 7b.
  6. I've got trays of Henry IIIs as it is what I started with in the hammered series. Will try and get some images as I don't have access to them at present. Here's a teaser.
  7. I built up a complete mint run of his longcross pennies, mostly in high grade quite easily so it's definitely achievable! As you say, some of the rarer classes will be more of a struggle. Keep us updated as this is an area I really do enjoy.
  8. I emailed the guy and he admitted it was a replica, so lowered the price from £90...to £30. If we could all email him, that'd be great - as some naive sod has bid: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/jbro80005/m.html?item=181637523237&hash=item2a4a70a725&pt=UK_Coins_BritishHammered_RL&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  9. Just paid an eye watering $81.66 using GSP.
  10. Apologies if posted here before. It seems as if people are attempting to resell the Battle of Britain 50p coins at much higher prices and claiming it's an error for not having a mark of value on: "the first time since Philip and Mary"... e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2015-UK-50p-coin-pack-75th-Anniversary-of-the-BATTLE-of-Britain-MINT-ERROR-/181633931761 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2015-Battle-of-Britain-Brilliant-Uncirculated-50p-No-Mark-of-Value-Read-on-/301462978933
  11. Definitely read the small print. Most couriers won't carry any 'antique' or anything made of gold or silver. This will void most coins, so do check.
  12. That first one is especially nice! Oxford mint - wouldn't mint that for myself.
  13. I'm with Rob. The thousands found each year in Scandinavia, Germany, Estonia, etc. do nothing to lower the price here in the UK and so I fail to see how it would be any different for coins in the UK that don't hit the market, either. Supply and demand.
  14. If you are viewing it in Firefox you should be able to right-click on the labels and then print the page.
  15. I do not follow you. Are you still opening them in Firefox or now in Adobe? Am I right in assuming you are now able to view the PDFs?
  16. If in doubt, try Chrome as a browser instead.
  17. Should be free: http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/ (Be sure to untick any of those offers.)
  18. It sounds like an issue with the content if it is just affecting .PDFs and not other formats. Have a look here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file You should be able to change the default program to open .PDFs to Adobe Reader rather than Firefox.
  19. This guy does a good job of telling the truth somewhere in his description, be prepared to scroll.
  20. Looks very crude from the blurry photos above. Intrigued to find out more.
  21. Not a hammered coin but likely a medieval/post-medieval token: http://finds.org.uk/database/images/index/q/lead+token
  22. A very Happy New Year to all!
  23. You're only missing the naivity of eBay buyers.
  24. I've bought a couple over the years but have bought mainly books from them and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone. Very friendly and trustworthy people, in my opinion.
