  1. Link. Wow. She looks...different.
  2. This is getting banded around a lot but I do not actually think he did. From what I understand he might have actually been present and robbed rather than unattended, but I could be wrong.
  3. You'll like this link, Asumel.
  4. Potentially. Or someone just sees you in the market and decides to follow you home waiting for an easy opportunity. A shame.
  5. A rare piece of apparatus these days.
  6. A good example of something similar is Lord Stewartby's collection. Stolen from his house when he happened to have them there briefly for cataloguing and never seen again. The most important private collection of Scottish coins disappears either to be melted down or, more likely, to be in somebody else's collection.
  7. I make the total value is £17,630 so I'm not sure where the £50k figure I was told came from...
  8. I'm not sure of the details but I know I'd never leave something like that unattended. Precisely. I've asked Lloyd for a list and shall post it here as soon as I receive it.
  9. He is! Hopefully all will be returned, time will tell.
  10. Nearly £50,000's worth of coins have been stolen from the car of Lloyd Bennett recently. A list is due to be published but there are some high grade hammered and milled coins within them. Just a heads up to anyone that gets offered an unusual amount over the next few days or weeks. Hopefully the coins will be found and the perpetrators brought to justice.
  11. I had a Jiffy bag arrive today from Lockdales. Now, I haven't won anything from one their auctions in a while, so I was a little perplexed. Upon opening I realised it was a coin from eBay. They trade under a wholly different name.
  12. I agree. The edge looks very suspect - implying two 10ps have been split and then affixed.
  13. Oh dear.
  14. Precisely. Especially as you can have twice as large a 'piece of history' on a keyring for a fraction of the cost here.
  15. This annoys me. Mentioning WRL and then subtly slipping 'copy' into the description.
  16. Precisely. The various adverts and paragraphs that say 'No Listing Fee' and 'No Sale, No Fee' do not instill much confidence when one takes into consideration that eBay's listing fees are minimal when compared to their Final Value Fee. I also find the 'No Sale, No Fee' to sound like an Injury Lawyers 4 You campaign...
  17. One for you, Stuart. The incredibly rare 'portcullis variety'...
  18. It'll lose significant quality if saved as a JPG. A PNG would be far better in terms if quality if you're still looking for a small/compressed file.
  19. One 'very rare' Charles I for you, TomGoodheart.
  20. Well I'd normally use Chrome's 'View Source' tool but there is an extension you can install with Chrome (the internet browser) called 'Allow Right-Click'. However, on this occasion, I did not need to do either on Chrome or, I checked, Internet Explorer.
  21. With a little bit of trickery it's easy to override any "Right Click Disabled" coding. Here's the images for you.
  22. Second up is a copy of Anglo-Saxon Pennies by Michael Dolley. Paperback, 1970, The Trustees of the British Museum. Very good condition with no tears. Slight marks to cover and some blunt corners. 32 pages plus 16 plates. Asking £10 with free UK postage.
  23. I've reorganised my library and have a couple of spares. I thought I'd post them here first before offering them for general sale. First up is Volume 1 of English Coins in the British Museum - Anglo-Saxon, by Charles Keary. Hardback, 1970, Seaby. Absolutely brilliant condition throughout, no foxing/tears/scuffs, no dustjacket and does have two red ink marks across the top (shown). 282 pages and 30 plates. Asking £30 with free UK postage.
  24. When standing in a hole it's best to stop digging.
