  1. I've seen a garage floor done like that - and the RM have a mini covered in pennies too (bet that doesn't get down the road now!).
  2. 2.804 pence minus commision fees. (less than 3p)
  3. I agree, I'd like to see one in the hand, but I won't buy one because I don't want to fuel the market for fakes. I had suspicions about one a while ago, but it seems that the varieties are starting to be produced nearly as fast as the royal mint is knocking out more "collectables". It's quite worrying to say the least.
  4. Jeez. So 4 Beatrix potters, 5 RAF and 26 10p's and it's only March. Then we have a royal wedding, probably a bunch of other £5 ones to be decided and some later year 50p's for another random person/event Royally Minting It....
  5. While not breaching anything (yet), this listing for an 1850 shilling (copy) caught my eye. I'm sure it won't be long before these start turning up without the Copy/replica/filler/restrike labels. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1850-Victoria-Retro-Shilling-Ideal-Gap-Filler-Exact-same-size-as-original/282862667265?hash=item41dbedc601:g:w78AAOSw38BacBKR I'll let you all be the judge of it's qualities.
  6. Do you use lights or natural light for photography? I'm having an absolute mare trying to image the churchill crowns to get a picture that shows what I can see in the hand, and so far artifical light really isn't doing it. Given the recent snow, as I was housebound I tried again, but had so much white natural light that it still didn't give a true impression. The quest continues...
  7. @Nonmortuus from your collection link, your 1897 Half Crown is gorgeous!
  8. I sold off 9 or 10 spare wrestling ones, but if I come across another I'll know who needs it
  9. I think I'l try getting a set the hard way, I managed all the olympics although I paid for a couple of "better" ones.
  10. They'll learn one day, and some may even start enjoying the hunt. The rest will find a new fad soon enough.
  11. Goes to show there are a new generation of coinies, all they need isintroducing to the delights of a wider variety of options
  12. Given the 20k+ queue of peeps looking at the site today, I'm not expecting any major value to be attributable to them. Of course 90 million will turn up on fleabay listed as "Rare"...
  13. It would seem everyone and their dog are trying to look at the RM this morning (well, everyone who is bored of the weather anyway!) ... Slow loading has given me time to eat my cornflakes and we're only up to picture "C" - Congrats on 10k posts, you've gone somewhat more grey now.
  14. What's the reverse of that halfcrown like anyway ?
  15. I was thinking lead too, it has the white crunchy look to it, like fairly recent lead which has been in a wet environment for a while.
  16. One is lit from below, the other from above. Same coin IMHO.
  17. *including variants.
  18. It is quite suprising sometimes just what does get delivered. Yours must have taken some doing to get the decent-ish looking Left image. Mine looked like it might be OK and actually turned up being better than expected. I hope my run continues, 4 ish more silvers to get, and then I just need some bronze improvers and the gold to complete the "everything from 1887 pile". I know that this will probably never get finished after seeing the 5 Pounds earlier!
  19. Don't forget the Mint Your Own 2018 Isaac and the 2 Paddington Bears as well
  20. 1887 continues with the somewhat harshly treated 1+A Shilling ( I love the way it photographs though!)
  21. And for good measure .. is that even die 98 or 38 or something else.
  22. Edit - it's bloody costly though
  23. I'm going to say no, I can't see an overdate, the die looked like it was a bit roiugh around the edges. Allcoinvalues has an 1872 which looks equally poorly formed. another die 98 shilling doesn't seem so bad. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GREAT-BRITAIN-Victoria-1872-AR-Shilling-PCGS-MS66-KM-734-2-S3906A-Die-98/182782553503?hash=item2a8eb06d9f:g:V4AAAOSwYkBZxTeD
  24. The last R of BritanniaR might be worth a closer look too..
