  1. So, I think I want to go with B, but look as I might, I can't decide. It appears to have more ripples in the right place, and the design also looks a little like there is more field in view above the plume. Thanks for any help
  2. oh my days, this will take a LITTLE counting. I just found another pre-decimal box too so I'm sorting that first!
  3. wait until you have some stock first !!!
  4. not when they're so obvious it's actually painful
  5. 1999 Tech is only if you want to go insane chasing them all ... I'm happy with my BU 2015 Tech for the picture in the box, one day I might get crazy but you can collect an awful lot of nice others for the price of one of those!
  6. Bitcoin already!!! (ok it was late and beer + keyboard - thinking correctly = bad)
  7. It is indeed in the "sold" listings!
  8. Awesome, that should keep all the relevent 1873 info in one thread for future reference
  9. @Rob have you got an example image - it might prove useful as someone might stumble accross one.
  10. I guess the biggest question here is what sort of coins do you like? Roman, Hammered, Milled, modern .. any particular denomination (some find solace in sixpences, others Threepneces or Farthings or Pennies and all of their varieties. Silver , gold or Bronze / Coppper, sets or presenation coins, piedforts, proofs or patterns - or maybe even tokens. What can your budget afford based on the above?
  11. I don't think the exergue line curves up at the left, it looks more like it droops in the midlle - but this would appear to be because of the odd placement of the retaining tabs from the slab. (optically odd for those of us with OCD)
  12. Fixed that for you Pete
  13. You're only saying that because you envy my thick crayons
  14. Is someone lining up a spamming campaign ? #WheresMyCanOpener
  15. @zookeeperz This is exactly what I thought when I checked Freeman.
  16. I looked but it was so late I couldn't see for looking - although I did spend the whole day looking through the rest of my pennies for anything else which might fund my Vicky habit. @Paddy I need to head to Devon soon, to: a) buy you a beer 2)rummage your scrap pennies iii) buy some of your spares
  17. With £2 coins, some are worth much more than face value, but largely most are literally face. The ones you want to look for are * Single metal "Claim of Rights" * Commonwealth games (2002) England * Commonwealth games (2002) Northern Ireland * Olympic handover 2008 A few others - error coins Royal Navy - Cat on the mast and Full flag error are the main contenders, pretty much everything else is £2 unless it's in uncirculated condition. I will now be hung at dawn as this is clearly Post Decimal
  18. I'm ashamed to say I don't have a copy of Peck yet, so I'm basing my comment on Freeman showing options of 7+G and 7+I and am too "green" to know if it's the same thing.
  19. There is also a mysterious 6+J variety for 1873, but my eyes were too tired to go hunting about for that one to compare!
  20. Nope, I see an icky blob of tape residue though
  21. I'll go with 7+G (but don't include myself in the "experts")
  22. I hope it's my hangover that makes me think you aren't kidding
