  1. I'm on the hunt for reasonably priced and reasonably conditioned Commomwealth Gmaes 2002 NI and EN coins to complete the lot. Does anyone have any they'd part with ? I have a number of spares including an HMS Belfast full flag error. Cheers!
  2. Many are tied up on ebay with people trying to get more than face value. Only a few are worth it when they show up as aunc/unc.
  3. I think it might be interesting to hear how it goes with images too .. nice to see just how much abuse you can give something in stages before completely killing it AKA when to stop / quit / sling it.
  4. I am confused though, these don't strike me as Olympic 50p's, and it's way too early for you to be that hammered.....
  5. I heard Nobby has got Big Ears. Maybe you could work something out there too?
  6. looks like it's also missing a few colon dots too!
  7. About 99% of those miinted are being safely stored by people who believe they are rare, thus making the appearance of them rather less likely in general.
  8. Not sure I'd want to pay that much for it, but I'd be reasonably happy with it, not aware of any forgeries for that year as yet, but I'm always willing to be corrected in my learning journey
  9. I'm about halfway to a full set of BU mint pack coins now, but I refuse to pay over 5 quid for any of them. I have all 29 currency ones all near mint, but they pretty much paid for themselves with the spares I sold
  10. ^^ What @craigy said, if the RM will validate it, you have a much better chance of decent value being attributed.
  11. I actually have nearly all olympic 50p's on cards, and was kinda hoping they'd do the same with the 10p's but was rather annoyed that I got a jiify bag full of coins in grip seal plastic bags instead. for £2 each I though it was very rude.
  12. What are you trying to do to me omg. British really is enough.
  13. If I get bored I might check the ever growing sack of foreign. I seem to have accidentally collected another 3 kilos this week :/
  14. As long as notes exist, coins will be required for change. When cash doesn't exist in monetary form it will be a sad day, charities and homeless people will suffer greatly from the inability to donate loose change.
  15. I believe its to do with how the cash distribution hubs handle coinage. As there is so much "good" coinage, much of it is re-bagged and recirculated, rather than bags of new coins being issued. Pretty much every bank and PO I've asked in has all said the same - they get sealed bags of recycled coins, and none so far have admitted even handling any new 10p's. With the rise of contactless, there is much less active coinage, so it becomes less likely to see new coins until long after their minting date. Some is definitely creeping out, but the general feeling is that those who find the bags of magic coins (PO workers etc) might be the ones saving it for family and friends, rather than it all reaching joe public.
  16. All the things that hurt after a nice jam up on the M5 in summer
  17. Looks like it would benefit from a gentle rinse, but as Rob says, it's been about a bit.
  18. If it is real, I never want one. That's horrible.
  19. man thats fugly.
  20. I'm starting to think I might need to get them all out and do it again.... but then most of them are so crappy. Although LCA has sold worse onees than I own for a premium. Maybe I'll check them again tomorrow just to be tripple-quadoubli-thirty-something sure.
  21. Just post me a couple of kilos worth
  22. Hmm, something else to hunt down lol
  23. I think I'm going to avoid the M5 completely this weekend, the weather forecast suggests it will be a massive car park for the whole weekend. Sorry @Paddy, not this weekend!
