  1. If it wasn't for posts here, I'd have slung the lot in the shitebin and left it, but seeing people post that they're struggling for these oddities filled my morning waiting for Amazon @zookeeperz thanks for the wisdom earlier - it cleared up my difficulty in A and B reverses, as measuring doesn't work obviously
  2. Thanks .. I think I looked at too many pennies this morning, it was only about 400 or so Wish the Freeman book had these words of wisdom!!
  3. All of my Obverse 2 1913's have this reverse so I assume it's B as I verily doubt I'd have 9 2+A's
  4. I've been sorting through my pile of crap unresearched coins, and think this may be an F175. Please feel free to comment but do try not to laugh your ass off at how shite some of my coinage is lol
  5. 1935 both incuse and raised have no reeding. 1854 also has no reeding.
  6. I dunno, I set mine up once (carefully) and haven't changed it since.
  7. If your budget will stretch to a second hand (or even new) minelab E-Trac, thats probably the best one out there, although anyone who owns a detector will have their own opinion. I know from my own experience that I don't miss anything - last trip out I managed a total of 5 minims, along with around 40 other Roman coins.
  8. I have to say @Rob, thats one gorgeous proof!
  9. Thats quite an achievement to gather up so many, how many tribes are represented there?
  10. aBsolutely Extremely Flat. I think is about right
  11. what a stellar collection. Hoard?
  12. Looks like a good few days ut there! I need to dust the old detector off and get outdoors soon!
  13. Oh, been oput digging then ?
  14. Does the BN mean Bent Nicely?
  15. A little bit of practice on exposure and aperture and I think you'll have it nailed
  16. Most auto modes will pick a spot to focus on and shoot, where you may focus at random on any given high or low spot - probably not even centered. if you shoot manual and set up your focus point and manually focus,. then you 'll get sharp
  17. I drew a line. no johnny foreigner stuff, theres too much British out there already.
  18. If you need a bag of 1.5k of foreign junk I'm taking offers lol.
  19. I know what you mean, it took me a couple of takes to get some lustre to show on my threepence, but I was only messing with it inbetween working, so haven't really explored best lighting etc yet. Mainly I got it because getting the DSLR out is just annoying for coins.
  20. I gave in. Microscope USB cam - £35 quid from Amazon.
  21. I bet your jewellery projects are probably worth nearer his price tag than that piece of shit..
  22. I totally agree!
  23. Many were silver dipped as currency became worth less, so it's probably a good match to be honest
  24. As soon as they're seen they either get "collected" or ebayed, either way they ain't going back into circulation.
