  1. You may be on to something with your link - my poor translation of French suggests the the link indicates trial slices. I can offer no more than good luck in your search, but do hang around, one of the more knowledgable chaps should be along soon!
  2. Indeed, and to think I had one in my hand last week which was a stunner. I don't know if I left it somewhere safe and it maybe got picked up for one of the kids bus fares, or if I put it in the "really safe place", in which case I might have a eureka moent in a couple of years time!
  3. Thats the best one I've seen in ages Zoo, can I dibs it when you get an upgrade lol?
  4. Dude. #VisionExpress. Discount vouchers available on receipt of vicky silvers.
  5. I have to agree the sentiment that £100 coins changed my view too, a sharp realisation that things vastly more worth of my cash existed, and they would be far better in investment terms too. I'd shift them on if I could get my cash back I think.
  6. That one is so bad its actually funny
  7. Thats a rather unhealth amount of solid metal £2 coins, are many the Claim of Rights ? I'm keeping an eye out for one but for some reason they're ridiculously expensive.
  8. Actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting, I've shifted so much of my shabby stuff in order to get better ones that I only have this currently. although I'm sure I'm missing a shoe box full of other sets. Half P - 14 Penny - 24 Two Pence - 11 Five Pence - 17 Ten Pence - 49 Twenty Pence - 14 Fifty Pence - 73 One Pound - 25 Two Pound - 48 five pound - 5 20 pound 2 50 pound - 1 BU Sets - 7 Proof sets - 5
  9. I have 2 of them (RE), one is more broken than the other. and a normal obverse. I'm pretty satisfied now that they're correct. It's amazing what you find when you open your eyes lol.
  10. Oddly no, that one is 1916. I did read the other thread and had to double check.
  11. Thanks Pete .,. while I have your attention .. Recessed Ear?
  12. So, I think I want to go with B, but look as I might, I can't decide. It appears to have more ripples in the right place, and the design also looks a little like there is more field in view above the plume. Thanks for any help
  13. oh my days, this will take a LITTLE counting. I just found another pre-decimal box too so I'm sorting that first!
  14. wait until you have some stock first !!!
  15. not when they're so obvious it's actually painful
  16. 1999 Tech is only if you want to go insane chasing them all ... I'm happy with my BU 2015 Tech for the picture in the box, one day I might get crazy but you can collect an awful lot of nice others for the price of one of those!
  17. Bitcoin already!!! (ok it was late and beer + keyboard - thinking correctly = bad)
  18. Awesome, that should keep all the relevent 1873 info in one thread for future reference
  19. @Rob have you got an example image - it might prove useful as someone might stumble accross one.
  20. I guess the biggest question here is what sort of coins do you like? Roman, Hammered, Milled, modern .. any particular denomination (some find solace in sixpences, others Threepneces or Farthings or Pennies and all of their varieties. Silver , gold or Bronze / Coppper, sets or presenation coins, piedforts, proofs or patterns - or maybe even tokens. What can your budget afford based on the above?
  21. I don't think the exergue line curves up at the left, it looks more like it droops in the midlle - but this would appear to be because of the odd placement of the retaining tabs from the slab. (optically odd for those of us with OCD)
