  1. Couldn't escape - it was my daughters invitation day to the Uni there.
  2. bah. Have to be in Reading this weekend. Doh!
  3. Thanks Zoo. Unfortunatey I fell somewhat better about my 20 quid HC now. From your pic it looks better than the obverse at least @Ukstu thats not a bad shortcross, it's done a few miles to get there and back
  4. I think they must dispose of the decent stuff somewhere else, pretty much all the coins they have at the mo are mingers or slingers.
  5. I was kinda hinting for an image .. I like to compare the crap I buy with what other people buy. Sometimes it makes me feel a little better about what actually turns up Other times it reminds me to aim a little higher when it should be an easily obtainable coin....
  6. And we'll probably see a rush of more people coming here with the usual questions. I motion for a sticky post~: Do you have a "New 2 pence" Does it have a date of 1983 : if Yes, cha-ching, you can make some cash!! If No, you are still poor.
  7. Plain as day. Below is a normal 6, which doesn't have straight fatures.
  8. I totally see a 5 over a mangled 6.
  9. That's just the sound of Pete re-Lustre-ing some old pennies
  10. Oh, those smart white ones that do up at the back ? I find they fit so well!
  11. It's not the medication, it's the new glasses.
  12. Nothing to see here move along ....
  13. Boat? where??? oh.
  14. Stunning find! I still haven't found a milled Lizzie either - or any gold at all for that matter. One day I hope to get lucky on both...
  15. What does she look like with a real photograph, I bet the uneven toning is strangely pleasant!
  16. With 23 sold, sadly it would appear so
  17. I find it a very easy system to work with
  18. or is this the right one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1887-Queen-Victoria-Jubilee-Medal-44mm/132525469230?hash=item1edb222e2e:g:aPEAAOSwd-pamxds
  19. Agreed. Changechecker .. misleading much - seems like only 12500 ever minted, but actually ... read it and don't get bent over . https://www.changechecker.org/2018/02/14/the-uks-brand-new-5-coin-is-the-rarest-of-them-all/ Horrid coin anyway so I have my bargepole handy.
  20. Interesting possibly non-factoid in the Sun ... re: New 10p's - Some 2.6million coins have been minted – 100,000 for each letter. If thats it for mintage, they're going to be collectable, but maybe thats a production figure to date... in which case expect more.
