  1. Someone probably said that during every period of coinage....
  2. No mention of the largely un-acclaimed no denomination 50p? I'm sure when the dailiy rags realise and report it, there will be more interest.... Battle of britain 50p - ONLY the one in the royal mint pack ( and as far as I understand, not every pack). Currently around £20 but watch this space I guess
  3. The pennies look ok (read that as genuine) .... but otherwise it looks like something a 5 year old made in playschool!
  4. yes. don't bum a fag on the subway in the UK!
  5. wow wrote a long essay and "some error blah blah page ./!" and no post. Doh.
  6. My most recent of several Vickies (the ones Mick didn't get, at least .... )
  7. Best put the "box it up and put it all in the loft" thoughts on hold if you're still getting good results
  8. the images shouldn't really affect it, database and bad indexes might, but tracking data and sites can be a pain in the a*** when you wait for those. While it's been slow, I haven't seen anything in my browser to give clear indications why, so it's server-side rather than client, but exactly what.. no idea. Happy to lend my services if requested though. Kev
  9. Look who turned up in my wtfit box.
  10. but its a milled out old coin which looks pretty shitty to start with. just Why?
  11. I think I want to start the it's a real one club. They just wear a bit and the design appears to flatten out when worn. exhibit B: my 1845 with as similar wear pattern as possible to your image.
  12. Now triathlon - harder to get than the "rare" ones. Basketball, I haven't seen that one packaged very often at all and am still (without paying daft cash) looking for one.
  13. I couldn't find many examples of the 3d but I'm still new to finding exactly where to look, 15k would suprise me (cheap at that price) from my limited knowledge of gold - mostly because I can't afford it so I try not to cause myself pain by looking
  14. The 1897 is beautiful! I'd ask for dibs on the next sale but fear it might break me for a couple of months!
  15. You don't have to spend a lot, my 1887 halfcrown in this thread cost me £18.75 or there abouts because the (ebay)auction ended at nearly 3AM when no-one else was daft enough to be awake for a UK only sale. I will admit I chucked 40 quid at in in the closing seconds to be reasonably sure of a win and was remarkably suprised to get it for below average definitely get the "Grading British Coins" book, so you know exactly which parts to look at on the coins before bidding!
  16. Time to free him from prison and let him have a swim
  17. Surely Centigrade is only for US coins?
  18. Indeed, well played mr anonymous! (Wasn't me, I didn't have that one spare )
  19. I'd have to dip that, it looks awful in the picture.
  20. You'd think they'd slab them straight, omg I'd send them back to be re-done! Beautiful vicky proof though.
  21. Addendum Spares are: 1994 Bank of England proof Bill of Rights 2015 Belfast 2013 Golden Guinea 2005 St Pauls (2) 2004 Trevithick Train 2003 DNA (2) 1999 Rugby (2) - I also have a sealed in pack one as well if that will help to tip the balance somehow. Pictures on request, offers (if any) by PM. happy to do swaps of some/ all / +-cash or combo of both. If anyone is interested in what I have as spare, pm an offer (Also quite a few 50 p's of various but I'd only take face+postage on those or throw them all in for a deal on the £2 coins I need - request what I have if interested, so I can finally get done with Decimal of these issues.
