  1. Which, Zoos or mine? If mine I really can't be sure the postage would be worth it let alone your time investment (says the man that wants to examine @Paddy's scrap bucket....
  2. I would look for one, but I'd certainly need the RM to accredit it before I got excited. They've done it enough times for it to be a realistic event...
  3. No-one in their right mind would use a gold one as £2 anyway. Can you imagine dropping one at tesco for a 1.99 item lol. Here's your penny change sir.
  4. The joys of USB scope-camera no squinting, easy checking on large screen. If something then needs a good picture it can go in the photo-pile.
  5. I think mine is probably all more aEW (almost extremely worthless). I might dig out some of the EF stuff for the 'bay, but other than that I have no idea what to do with it all. Melting it with a plasma cutter into artwork would be satisfying I think.
  6. Thanks will, that might be an option if it isn't all too old. I am dreading it, and literally just now found another 1.5kg bag to go in the pile. I'm starting to think I have as much coinage as @zookeeperz - it's just stored in one or two "large" holders
  7. I read this and an alarm in my brain went off (about 5 hourts later)... then I realised you meant getting a BU currency one is damn hard (as opposed to getting a currency coin missing the initials). Finding a currency coin with initials, that would be a new one! EDIT: My currency one.
  8. I'm going to have to face up to the task and go through all my foreign junk soon, but I was wondering if anyone had and words of wisdom first please? Is it worth it, or should I job-lot it all out of the door. Is there anything I should be on the lookout for - I don't want to play variety hunting with this lot, so the totally obvious will be fine, anything microscopic will go in the pile for bulk unless it might change my life or wallet contents significantly. It all dates from late 1800's to now-ish. Thanking you all in advance for any wisdom imparted.
  9. Time travel for a jape? - It exists, I saw it on youtube!
  10. The reverse should be the shield, rather than the crowned lion which was used until 2008. So in essence, a 2009 Obverse with a 2008 reverse = mule of interest. Link to example on LCA
  11. Possibly because no-one actually looked at them, it's certainly not high on my mental list when I get change these days (although it should be I guess).
  12. That's going to be a fun one!
  13. Not entirely convinced it's a coin, it could well be a partial strap-end.
  14. Apologies for the thread hijack @HeavyT. The currency release featured the Jody Clark Portrait with the "fifty pence" inscription. At least some of the BU packs feature the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley without the inscription. The silver Proofs (some of?) have a portrait by Jody Clark also without an enscription. This particular coin comes in at least 3 varieties, but the royal mint seem reluctant to release mintage figures for each variety, only stating that there was amintage of this commemorative coin.
  15. The silver proof and the circulation ones both have "Fifty pence" on the obvserse, some of the packs don't.
  16. fingers crossed. If i was a gambling man I'd buy a bunch more for good measure but I almost always chicken out and then get proven correct!
  17. Thats a bargain but it does have a denomination.
  18. Someone probably said that during every period of coinage....
  19. No mention of the largely un-acclaimed no denomination 50p? I'm sure when the dailiy rags realise and report it, there will be more interest.... Battle of britain 50p - ONLY the one in the royal mint pack ( and as far as I understand, not every pack). Currently around £20 but watch this space I guess
  20. The pennies look ok (read that as genuine) .... but otherwise it looks like something a 5 year old made in playschool!
  21. yes. don't bum a fag on the subway in the UK!
  22. wow wrote a long essay and "some error blah blah page ./!" and no post. Doh.
