  1. I nearly started this one a while ago but decided I was seeing things. Anyway, without further ado ... Am I still seeing things please, and if so, what? ( I know what I think I see). A 1908 Penny Obverse for your pleasure.
  2. Other than THANKS FOR BUYING, SUCKERS!!!!
  3. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-Portcullis-Reverse-British-1p-One-Pence-Year-2008/292498086774?hash=item441a3e9b76:g:nZYAAOSwKIpV-bIn I'll have whatever he's smoking.
  4. Anyone else have any input on the "cleaned" status of the above 3d please - I'm very interested to understand. Cheers!
  5. As I'm the village idiot around here, could one of the wisened gentlefolk please let me know how you (or aforementioned grading company) came to the conclusion that this coin is "cleaned" please? I just don't see "it". Cheers!
  6. I don't see April yet. (download version)
  7. Not yet, although my perch on the fence is becoming increasingly less comfortable
  8. I'm starting to think I should take you up on that offer of bucket-diving.
  9. Is there a list anywhere ? It might give me something to look at instead of hunting down vicky varieties.
  10. I probably would if I could recognise them
  11. Be gentle with the 1898, it'd be a shame to hurt that one.
  12. March is traditionally Yearly Bonus month... perhaps people are pre-emptively spending. I know my hope-to-get bonus is long since gone and it hasn't arrived yet lol!
  13. I guess I have terrible taste in coins then, but I also agree with @Paddy - slabbing isn't something I'd do (without a very specific need for it)
  14. Pfffft. Ruin a good story with Facts?
  15. I love the toning on the 1898, and I'm not posh about digs too much so if it ever needs a new home... The 1877 seems like a "normal" example - I imagine it could look nicer with less harsh lighting (or in the hand). The George.. what do I know about George?
  16. Well, thats gonna make things entirely a lot more complicated.
  17. You can definitely tell when someone has been indoors for too long ....
  18. Thanks guys, I'll pay more attention to post Vicky soon I promise (And I might have to revisit my pile of GV's soon just to check if ensure my run of being unlucky persists!)
  19. I'll plead complete ignorance, but (and this is seriously because i have no idea) why?
  20. Couldn't escape - it was my daughters invitation day to the Uni there.
  21. bah. Have to be in Reading this weekend. Doh!
  22. Thanks Zoo. Unfortunatey I fell somewhat better about my 20 quid HC now. From your pic it looks better than the obverse at least @Ukstu thats not a bad shortcross, it's done a few miles to get there and back
  23. I think they must dispose of the decent stuff somewhere else, pretty much all the coins they have at the mo are mingers or slingers.
