davidrj Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 I love the westair reproductions Ltd...a nice MM when you've just shelled £770 to some youngster. Ouch!I notice no feedback posted yet Quote
Peckris Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 This one should be "ebay cry" not "ebay laugh"http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190587060016Have you seen the reverse photo!! I emailed her 4 days ago to say it was a modern repro and only worth a quid or two. Needless to say with it already at £410 the silence was deafening. It's been withdrawn. Probably reappear in a few weeks time with an 'ambiguous' description . Quote

He's gonna do well there, especially when we don't even know the denomination either. Both coins in the picture are 1 and the same, same scratches under the kings bust. If they were different there would be more reason to be suspicious about the pure silver claim, but as we are talking copies they could have been made yesterday and so the description must be taken at face value. I quite like the crossed arrows and pitchfork description. The identification of writing and a man's head deserves plaudits too. Quote

I though silver was debased to 0.500 in 1920?It was. 2 identical obverses means either they can't be genuine, or a copy and paste. If not genuine, then as copies they could easily be 925 silver - god, it's no good when you have to explain. I thought you would have seen through it, or maybe I should have used a different emoticon. Edited October 27, 2011 by Rob Quote

argentumandcoins Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Not strictly speaking a laugh, BUT, this is an unsolicited email I received from some tosser who has never purchased from me......No wonder people hassle you for F/B with your attitude - who would want to buy anything from you - you offer rudeness and parthetic customer service as shown by your own ad. Never seen anything like it before - What sort of business person has this attitude - one that most people will stay clear of I'd reckonQuite a successful one actually!Well I can safely say he will be staying well clear of me as he is now blocked! TomGoodheart Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Which will have to do instead of the jaw drop smiley I would have liked.I'm sorry I didn't list anything this weekend as clearly there are idiots about. For I can't believe that eight people would bid on a coin that they haven't seen, let alone one that the seller has illustrated with a picture of a WRL replica. I just wish I'd thought of it, then I too could be £160 better off!hammered 1653 shillingScam, do you think? Or stupid? Quote
