  1. Spot on. I have had some nice stuff off Facebook but there is a lot of dross to trawl through.
  2. My lad just turned 8 and wants to do exactly the same, make videos of him playing games and talking about it. I have tried to explain to him why, at 8 years old, I am not prepared to pet him do it.
  3. The foam has some give in it so if you are 0.5mm out the coin will, fit just very snugly.
  4. http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Selecting-the-Correct-Size-Standard-Lighthouse-Coin-Capsule-/10000000178714172/g.html This is generally a good guide regarding which quadrum to go for.
  5. Has anyone used CGS since the name change etc? I have a few coins I want to slab but PCGS are expensive for what I want grading. Are the turn around times better? Do the grading standards match up to what they were pre changes? I would welcome any feedback before I decide to join. Higher grade CGS slabbed coins still seem to be selling well on ebay.
  6. If you can get decent quality pictures posted on here Cath there are plenty of people who can give you some guidance on the grade
  7. Thank you all for the input. It sounds like a dark art to distinguish the two...
  8. Hi all, Is there any way to distinguish between a sterling 1920 threepence and a debased 1920 threepence? Thanks Non
  9. Have you looked at AWS? Where I work, we are an authorised AWS reseller. I know that they used to do a media hosting service. It may be worth looking into AWS S3.
  10. They just need to read the one negative feedback to understand what he is doing.... he is making a killing with these!
  11. At the moment I am digging every single signal
  12. I'm new to this so at the moment I am digging every signal. The 400 has iron audio. So it 'grunts' if it thinks the target is iron. I can discriminate iron out if I want to.
  13. The 400 was picking up a piece of iron wire about 6mm in length and no bigger than 1m width at a depth of abut 4" last week. I couldn't work out what was causing it to go off until I got the Carrott into the clod and found that tiny bit of wire.
  14. I bought a Garrett 400i and I am pleased with it so far. The Iron audio is a nice feature. No exciting finds yet but I have only done about 40 yards of a 7 acre permission
  15. I use Quadrum capsules for my better coins. The protect them, I can see both sides without handling the coin and they make trays to take them. The only thing you will struggle to see with them is the edge. They are not the cheapest but I like them. You can also easily remove the coin for photos etc uf needed.
  16. Cheers Pete, that was zoomed in with my phone. The coin is very nice that tiny spot aside.
  17. Rather than start a new thread I thought I would post here. I have a German Mark that is slabbed by PCGS that has the slightest pin prick of Verd on the reverse. It is not a high value coin being a 1914 D but would you break it out and treat it or leave it in the slab and see how it develops?
  18. Check his/her feedback and look at all those fakes that people are posting positive feedback against Caveat emptor!!
  19. I think @Paulushas some examples.
  20. I am the other side of Brum so not a million miles away. I plan to join the MMCD when I get chance.
  21. I would loved to order an AT Pro but it was out of my price range. Hopefully the 400i will be good enough for all bar sea water. I have my insurances in places and 2 small permissions but need to join the local club
  22. I took the plunge and ordered a Garrett 400i today.... lets see how many shotgun shells I can find
  23. Still a LOT to learn but you guys are helping me all the time
