  12. Zimgrind - there is an expert amongst us who has taught me how to decontaminate my coins- this will not make it glow , change colour - or any other weird or wonderful things but what it will do is remove and surface grease etc without damaging your coins - just use acetone (not nail varnish remover ) with a cuetip and gently dab it on your coin. With regards your toned 1908 penny there are many collectors who prefer toned coins. the question is what grade is it - many here can help you on that if you paste a pic or two.
  13. Everyone of you have listed coins that i believe are iconic with the exception of the 1887 Jubilee Sovereign. Am i the only one that has never been impressed by this design ?

  18. Was at a friends looking through his collection - he appears to have a large amount of counter stamped Victorian pennies. However besides love tokens he was not able to explain why so many coins have counter stamps - so ive come to the experts who im certain can inform me as to why coins have been counter stamped
  19. Hi Potlings, besides saying welcome i must say im new and the peeps on here and very helpful and knowledgeable - the occassional banter on grades but thats all healthy builds our knowledge.
