The reverse certainly looks to have wear on the high points, doesn't it. Nice obverse though.

RS do a wide range starting at £1.19 + VAT for a box of 250, if that helps. For anyone desperate to fill their home with kilos of useless metal this must be nirvana!

But I can't grade for toffee so... I propose a new two-tier grading system. I was just reading some of his feedback though and I feel sorry for him actually, assuming his responses are honest as it would appear that other sellers are trying to discredit him on false grounds. Stuart, you're right. The colour values in the rest of the photo look to be pretty accurate. The coin could well be brown! I also agree it looks like a tun mm. Clear on the reverse, but on the obverse possibly been fiddled about with. If an earlier coin had been over struck, why would it be done in such a way? Both obverse and reverse designs and legends completely replaced, but just the tiny area where the mm appears left unchanged? Nah…..

Here, from my collection, is an example of a straightforward counterfeit halfpenny of the same period. A very dangerous business to be involved in back then!
