I was that excited i phoned the royal mint up. They told me billions will be in circulation this week However if i want a nice one on a card they would be happy to send me one for £15 Joking aside.....In the daily mirror today they say"Will be collectable within ten years as we start to stop using cash "

I have just been to the paper shop and been given an odd looking £1 coin in my change. Can anyone tell me if this is rare and worth much , i have not seen one like it before as it is a funny looking shape ?. Thanks. Pete.

The AA01 is worth £10-£15 if in Mint condition as the first run are always sought after. The numbers you mention i dont think would add any premium to a collector. I would just put it away and keep it.

I dont know anything about them but the linear circle / rim appear different. Although maybe just the picture and shadow. -
If you type in your keyboard enlarge picture in BLOCK CAPITALS and click on the picture it makes it bigger for you Jon.

Good point Iain about asking questions . I have just been speaking to a dealer asking questions and probably do some forum members heads in phoning them up. The thing is that i want to learn and listen ......fortunately most people are more than willing to help

The main positive Iain is you posted the picture and if you hadnt may of thought ok and bought others without realising Maybe dont be tempted with ebay for a while as a lot is RANG and better to pay a bit more with a dealer and get coins that are ok. Be lucky. Pete.
