i think another and the most important bit is how much the final cheque is for 🙂 Having sold through a few different auctions both coins and banknotes being good to buy from can be different than good to sell with. its important to look at the total fees as its easy to see prices coins have sold for but important to look at what you would actually receive. Everything will sell but not much fun if you risk only getting a small percentage of the true value.

Only Lee will know the answer to that and worth a call although would be a thousand lots approx unless all the cheap ones were taken out. Most of the auctions mentioned 150/200 Lots have relied and included the big ticket items as Rob mentioned coins at over £1K to make the auction worthwhile and although there may be quite a few (i only looked at the pennies) photos ,catalogue etc having so many would be a lot to manage especially for coins of less than say £30. Lee would definately be one of the people i would ask to buy them or maybe do an auction of all the better pieces.

Maybe take out all the ones with a realistic value of about £100 + to sell at auction individually with a sensible reserve on each lot. The ones left i would sell to a dealer rather than putting groups together in auction ,they will want to see them before commiting to a price , however most will travel if they know your a serious seller or you could take them to a show.You will know the dealers you can trust and its easy to get a courier to deliver them being another option. All the ones less than say £40 are IMO not worth the hassle of listing individually on ebay ,some may sell for a bit more than expected and some for a lot less so selling them in one go for a sensible price is much quicker with know returns ,postage or looney buyers.Possibly put the ones on ebay at between £40 /£100 as a BIN for a few weeks to see if some go. The only other option would be to book a table at a busy fair for yourself but you may not wish to go down that route and again costs involved. Its a shame to break up a fantastic collection however good luck. There are lots of buyers on here (although a lot dont post) so definately worth posting on this thread should you decide what to do with them.

Probably the best gig i ever went to as wasnt expecting to go . Me and a mate took a wagon load of maggots over as a breeder over there was running short for a fishing festival. The guy who had the farm over there gave us the tickets for doing him a big favour 🙂

Yes by using someone elses account. Put a bid in for £1000 so you know it will be higher ,it will then show the £140 then just retract the bid as entered the wrong amount in error and put in £139 a day or so after.

I dont think the seller had any idea what it was and wasnt intending to deceive. There does not appear to be any shilling just listed at 99p and they have not sold a coin before. On the other subject of sniping it has the benefits rather than leaving a bid a few days before at the highest you want to pay ,on a coin worth a few quid its to easy for the seller to see your maximum bid. I.E. You leave a bid for £140 a couple of days before ( that shows a lot less ) the seller has a look on another account and puts in a shill bid of £139 😟 You see some accounts that have retracted loads of bids and doubt they have made that many mistakes.

Received my second letter today from Border force to confirm a refund which like the other will be paid to me in the next couple of weeks ☺️ Just wish i had known what to do before. Important to keep the envelope and receipt from the purchase if you think its wrong.

I think they are just errors with the wrong blanks ,if they were intended i think they would of atleast kept one and recorded it.I have a 1928 with the reverse inverted and as some show die rotation i dont see any reason why they didnt release just the one die and then not tighten it properley ? Just like the jersey penny could of been struck in error with one die not changed. I am only guessing Mike and not any reason as to why its not something else but feel the ones mentioned are just errors.

Well he wouldnt if he was sat with me ,if someone else wants to drag something up and i think they are wrong or out of order ,i will defend the other side. It does not matter to me if its in a pub or on a forum ,i will stand up for myself or defend someone else if i feel they should be backed up. The ones who put there head down or go home tend to be the ones who are two faced and go home to slag them both off . Sometimes its better to say nothing ,but not if the other person continues to go on with themself.

If thats the colour Ian as looks a bit odd , i would say the reverse definately MT and the obverse maybe gold 😂or partly MT. The 1934 come in all different shades from black to a very light brown.They will lose the hypo when in circulation or even just being against something else over nearly ninety years. The obv i am 50/50 although it looks a good one as very few on the OBV have much detail to the hair.

Not a problem and sent you the pictures ,i did mention in an earlier post i used to have it.The coin was in a cgs slab (lighter pictures) and i broke it out and sold it Dave Craddock. A forum member has it now 😃

A 1932 MINT TONED ?

Without stating the obvious Mike it will be the same as a 1934 with a different date and sorry i have never had one,coins round 44,45,46 such as 1947 will be much darker. I can send you pictures of a 1932 (i cant download them ) but any 1934 colour is what your looking for. I think after yesterday they are just a few of the same blanks that got mixed in by error. Daves book also states............The majority of examples for 1935 were darkened at the mint and in a few cases examples are found with a brilliant finish. Again...I dont agree and think that also is an error .

Thinking about it the HYPO i feel it must of been put on the blank before it was struck ,the 1946 pennies were all lustered and fully struck from a mint roll. They were almost black but with a sheen that would of come from the strike IMO.

I will have a guess Mike..........36,743 😊 Joking aside that is an error in the book ,your own coin which has just naturall toning IMO is the same as most.There are exceptions to the rule some years that have MT when shouldnt have ,i had a 1932 that was MT.There are some years that should be MT 1944,45 & 46 that you find have missed the MT and occasionally 1934 ,sometimes partly as well as the full coin. The 1935 though are MOSTLY normal . I believe the HYPO was a liquid wash that the coins went through after striking ?. Why some years have it that shouldnt though i have not got a clue 😊 Infact it would make more sense that the BLANK was washed BEFORE striking and some of those were mixed in with others 😮 Pete.
