  1. Sorry to go off track but i have another penny and the c.g.s picture is not the best. That also has a fingerprint on but doubt you will ever see a better one. Its not scarce but really nice coin. c.g.s.31744 Pete
  2. Hi yes on the photos appears to be a fingerprint but wont lose any sleep .The photograph i feel does not do justice as looks spot on.
  3. i have a nice one although its graded c.g.s. 18036 penny
  4. goomlique . Personally i would only buy from reputable dealers or alternative coins you can see in hand, such as coin fairs etc. Lots of coins on Ebay and in my opinion lots of garbage. Make your bid and win some and lose some. Pete
  5. Just tell him your not happy and send it back.Tell him to come on the forum ,if he is honest will accept the return
  6. Most honest sellers will allow for returns in my opinion .
  7. Just to note in the future that the seller says no returns accepted and allowed you to make your own decision on grade.Good luck
  8. I disagree the planchet error does not show signs of flattening as that does.
  9. Thanks scott yes although the one i have is pretty much FDC and copper do you no anything about them.I dont assume its worth anything but did not have a clue. Thanks again . Pete
  10. Yes as i mentioned on a previous thread its disappointing ,and although i am the first to encourage collecting in my opinion not the best way.
  11. Some of theses tokens are awesome.Would not no were to start though and the detail is amazing.I have a large medal from manchester town hall 1877 and although appears mint and about 45mm i dont have a clue what it is .Can anyone give me an idea how i can look it up
  12. Thanks. Now please sit down and chill out
  13. Something i have never tried but think coinery is the best to tell you think if i remember from previous posts there are different types. Better in the first place to buy a coin that does not need touching in my opinion
  14. personally i think its sellers trying to bump up the price and coins get sent to c.g.s. by sellers looking to make a few quid. There is nothing wrong with that but i can assure you it wont always work.I do feel they grade independently and some you win and some you lose .We must remember in my opinion shill bidding happens and some people buy a number. The majority of my coins i have had slabbed i bought raw and although was dissapointed of a few being rejected that was there opinion and what i paid for and allowed me to send the majority back.I have over a hundred pennies slabbed and although probably cost me a couple of grand i am happy You dont have to send or buy them. Pete
  15. That is out of order and just shill bids ,Waste of everyones time
  16. The standard guide to grading british coins.Sorry should of said but hard with kids running wild everywere
  17. derek allen a member of the forum is the one
  18. lots of good people will help on this forum ,i only buy pennies .I don t want you to make mistakes that cost you to much money and the best thing is get used to grading and read as much as possible. The british bronze penny 1860-1901 is available on michael gouby site michael coins well worth buying and reading his web site. The bronze coinage by michael freeman is the one main reference more commonly used and i would buy them both study and keep looking on the forum. Pete
  19. Peck. Yes that s what helped me so much and the reason why i asked were he lived .A lot of good dealers but nothing better than meeting them and looking at the coins Also some good dealers on line and auctions, just wanted to no what he was after buying. Pete
  20. Hi hazelman . Were abouts do you live and what coins do you purchase. Pete.
  21. 1887 -78 1927-85 1819-70 Although i am only guessing and slab pennies
  22. Nothing i can see possibly a bit of extra metal, but not anything special, although a good date to look for anything unusual
  23. The post was not meant to offend ,the coin in question is GARBAGE thousands available .It is not scarce and not worth anything more than face value.I am the first to appreciate errors and have a few but that is not one.Keep buying GARBAGE and be lucky coinery.Jordan keep posting and looking for a coin thats unusual
  24. Just feel that if it would of been c.g.s. graded then the price would of been considerably higher.I no most will disagree but why not slab for £25 and attract a bigger market.
