  1. Yes brg pictures are quality and always look spot on.
  2. yes mate you can throw that away. keep looking and learning and dont be to keen on buying any until your sure you will be happy with your puchase.
  3. Think its down to how scarce the coin is as mentioned earlier. I dont mind rim nicks/edge knocks if the strike is ok and i cant find a better one. I wouldnt buy anything that has been cleaned and not keen on verd or carbon spots. Only buy pennies and some with a lot of lustre show signs of handling and not really bothered about that either. I have a really nice 1858 large rose penny with small date a couple of nicks but the strike is nice and problem free.
  4. Welcome to the forum. A lot of people on here with the knowledge to help you and offer advice. I have spent hours looking at old posts/topics and still do always something to learn. Pete.
  5. He might of been prepared to pay more bob and thats what i would of been happy at. Although me bidding got you a bit more i suppose.
  6. Thanks Bernie. Their are a whole lot of followers listed. I assume they are waiting till the last few minutes to bid. Somehow I thought if the item did not end with a Buy It Now then it might fetch lot more. The other mules on ebay are struggling to fetch £600 but they are TB/BB I put the other bid in jac, just put £650 in and turned it off.
  7. Thank you. I think we take the books for granted and made me wonder how we could of possibly collected or studied bronze coins without them.
  8. You could see it with a loupe and obviously the better the strike the easier to tell the one i have was graded 82
  9. The loop of the 9 touches the downstroke nordle, can only really be seen under a microscope its that small a difference. They are also the same on 1903 ,04 and 06
  10. The loop of the 9 touches the downstroke nordle, can only really be seen under a microscope its that small a difference.
  11. Its one i have slabbed Bob c.g.s. 33125 i also have a 1903 one c.g.s 12546. I have the others you mention although they are not worth slabbing.
  12. An 1873 i have thats quite nicely toned c,g.s. 7721.
  13. I cant get my head around this . I have a penny that has been slabbed just a 1907 that has a price of £270 the variety is that small it can only be seen under a microscope. Its a closed 9 and although i have a couple the price seems daft and surely they are not scarce enough to warrant a premium as high as that ?. Pete.
  14. Welcome stevemersey thats a nice penny and definately worth keeping.
