    1913 pennies

I am looking for two 1913 pennies with the A reverse. Both 2+ A in EF or possibly better 1+A in BU If anyone has either i want them problem free please and if they are nice will pay a decent price straight away. Pete.
  5. Thats a good point and yes i think someone would of put it away before it got to that stage
  6. I have logged on hoping someone had some kind of answer . Some ideas are better than none. Hope you find an answer that you are happy with Matt as think if it were mine would start doing my head in
  7. Just thought i would bring this up Colin. You recently sent a F9 for slabbing and came back as a normal one ?. Must be a reason for you after these comments to use them again. Its nothing to do with me but you new from experience before you sent it ?.
  8. Sent you a mail Matt .
  9. I would keep that Matt and perhaps send to the Royal mint . If nobody can be sure its definately interesting and unusual. Were matrix/dies made bigger for any reason. ......such as a trial strike for a new die . I know 1937 were the same but must of been replaced at some point. I am not having its squashed and think its genuine. Maybe i am completely wrong
  10. I keep looking at this and cant see how its possibly been squashed ,everything seems spot on . The rim / teeth and detail surely would not be as clear. The reverse being double struck also makes me think
  11. Know Matt 120384 is a collector as are the others although can only comment on the pennies.
  12. Whats a HOF penny
  13. Hopefully someone can help as i would not have a clue
  14. Thats interesting Matt ,what year is it and is the reverse just as good ?.
  15. Agreed and i am uneducated
  16. Nice find Brian and a nice coin
  17. Think you might end up like me Weaver and not pass any exam
  18. Please leave the pennies i cant find any as it is
  19. Give Neil a ring by all means as he is an honest guy although there are numerous others ,maybe visit a show. The idea of making profits though i think should be forgotten about as there is know gaurantee at all .
  20. Without hopefully boring you I phoned a dealer up and explained i wanted to buy a few coins to put away for my grandaughter. I had spent a few months reading and decided i was going to buy some pennies to put away for 18/21 years. Explaining my requirements and asking for help i then bought a few . I was told they were nice and high grades and had know reason to doubt him and spent £1,000.00 Approx. Before going any further and having nobody else to check them decided to send them to cgs to be graded really for my own peace of mind. The six coins came back rejected and two in much lower grades When i phoned the dealer i just got excuses (they dont have a clue e.t.c.) i told him two were cleaned and was told i must of done it. Taught me to learn a lot more and not to trust this seller again...........i wont and have spent thousands over the last three years a customer he lost. Neil paisley at Colin Cooke has looked after me well ever since so i am happy to keep buying from him and a couple of others. I dont want the coins for nothing (although would be nice) just at a fair price and as described Be lucky and take your time. Pete.
  21. Find a couple of dealers you trust and who are happy to spend time helping you is .......... good advice as already mentioned. Just as there is one dealer i would never buy anything from again ,an experience i learned a lot from
  22. Hi Ben and welcome to the forum
