If they're going to be worth more for their silver content than the grade of the coin, I'd just put it aside in a silver pile and list all of the silver at once. The rest will probably still sell, even if it's just at 99p, but you'll definitely get your money's worth for the silver. Don't forget to list what you have, so weigh all the .500 silver and write down the weight, then the .900 etc. So the listing says, for example, you've got 50 grams of silver which breaks down as 20g @ .500 and 30g @ .900. Take a look at a few bulk listings on eBay and get a feel, what would you be more likely to bid on, a listing of a pile of silver coins that just says 'silver coins', or one that tells you exactly what you're getting in terms of weight and silver content.

Good news! Absolutely, probably a good idea just to take out anything you have that has silver content and list those separately from the others. Bullion is bullion like you say.

Also, have you checked them for any varieties or specifics? A general book like Krause can help for things like that. You never know, you might have grabbed a not so common variety of a certain year that will still bring in a little more even in a less than desirable grade. Not only helps to add funds, but a good experience identifying varieties and grades.

Definitely the best advice out there. Best way is probably going to be eBay. If you've got the time, list them in groups, perhaps by country.

If you want a feel of prices, but do take them with a pinch of salt, have a look at http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/ where you can find price guides which I think are taken from the books. That way you can see roughly what things will start to cost as you get further back (or forward) in your collection. There's lot of ways to collect though; by denomination, by metal type, by monarch, there's even a collector on here who likes to buy coins that feature horses. It's all down to your preferences, and normally your budget plays a factor too .

Welcome to the forum Ben. Definitely get yourself a book or 2 and have a look at some different types, see what you like. Some denominations may be cheaper than others but if you don't enjoy the look of them you probably won't enjoy collecting them as much. You can find many great books at http://www.rotographic.com/ which is owned by the same person who owns this forum too. As Non also suggests, see if you can get to a coin fair where you can take a look at pretty much any type of coin that is available, get a feel of some of them in hand and see what draws you in. You can also get some great advice from people who have been at it for many years, plus get a general idea of prices too. Any questions you have along the way feel free to ask, everyone here is extremely helpful and will always point you in the right direction.

Exactly, the purple hue in the legends is lovely, LCA have enhanced their picture so much the tone nearly disappears. It's just a problem of wondering what the coins actually look like when you receive them!

I find the same problem with them. I've yet to get mine but here is the LCA pictures vs. the DNW pictures where it first appeared. Looks like 2 different coins.
