  1. Do you have a picture Rob? Perhaps this is why the open 3 is considered as more of a variety, as the font changed.
  2. Date widths are for the truly dedicated completionists, I personally don't get much excitement from them. Like you say, for the Victorian pennies there are many, many date widths for many, many years.. High/low/wide digits, thin/thick digits, digits with/without/extended tails, open/closed/recut digits, the list goes on. I do subscribe to the already widely recognised examples like the open 3 but not much else - although I have some examples of different spacing dates, they're not part of my main collection.
  3. Probably why then, do you know the lot no.?
  4. Likewise, he who dares I suppose. I've not had as much luck as you but I've only been at it a few years. I suspect more and more people are out looking nowadays as well, things that I do spot normally jump in price towards the end as the variety is spotted by a few. Probably by most of you lot on here
  5. Not the first time that seller has done that either, quite annoying. Fair enough if there are no bids but once people are bidding on it then it seems quite unfair to pull it for an offer.
  6. £200 for a VG example in the last LCA auction, I think you did really well. Would like to know the interest in this one, I haven't seen an exmaple in any major collections including Alderly, Workman, Accumulator's, Richard's. I assume the one from March was in the Elstree collection?
  7. I was talking about you haha, because you said well spotted I thought maybe I was reading the post wrong.
  8. I don't think it's ONF, just a dirty/stained bottom leg, similar stains to the left side of the O in ONE and the right side of the P in PENNY. Were you saying it's a ONF David or just that it looks like one?
  9. Yes anything penny related, this thread is a good place to start. If it's a penny purchase that you're particularly proud of, put up a post in here. Otherwise you have regular threads like "Coin acquisition of the week" or you can always just start your own one, no problem.
  10. Welcome to the forum DrP, it seems everyone must've been at the pub when you first posted, don't be disheartened by the lack of responses They'll be along soon enough. I don't know too much about collecting maundy, although a set of my birth year is certainly on the list. I'm not too sure why people would separate the sets but I suppose needs must and it's got to happen to some of them. Well done on picking up the 2 pence for a fiver though, not too shabby at all.
  11. A good list since the last book then. For the missing waves have you got all 4 - 1967, 1966, 1934 and 1921?
  12. Sorry bagerap I can't find any reason why it would be doing that. Chris managed to sort the issue out for Coinery, maybe when he comes along he will be able to do the same for you and REDD. It's strange that you can both access and post on the site but just the edit profile section isn't working, the 403 is a permission error so it's weird only one section isn't working. You all have permission to edit your profiles too.
  13. Do you have another browser you can test it on? IE or Firefox?
  14. Everyone has lots of IP address. I meant I've checked both yours and REDD's IP addresses that you have used previously.
  15. Anything notable in your new list Dave? A new major variety or something like that..
  16. Can you check to see if any of your plug-ins are preventing you from seeing the pop-up? I can edit your profile from here which suggests it's either an IP issue or a plug-in issue, I've check both of your IP addresses and neither are blocked, including any recently used ones.
  17. Nice spot Brian, I presume there's nothing in Groom about it? If anyone would've noted it, it would probably have been Dave.
  18. Not one I've seen before either, and quite prominent compared to ones in other places
  19. What's the process? I.e you get the pop up form and enter the details but get the 403 when you click save or does it come up when you click edit profile? Can you try clearing cache and cookies and try again (if you haven't already)?
  20. Lovely coin, better than my normal 1915 which really needs an upgrade too. I did buy a cracking one on eBay about a month a go for around £70 but the seller used the GSP and apparently didn't receive any tracking so we assumed it never arrived to them. Such a pain when coins go missing.
  21. Could be a blocker of some sort? When you edit your profile it doesn't take you to a new page, it brings up a pop-up form to make changes in.
  22. Thanks David, very helpful. The photos are a good comparison too. Also, nice recessed 1915, can we see a picture of the reverse too?
