  1. No Mike, it's an update of the 1860-1901 Victoria book. There a couple of 1 page additions/replacements for new obverses/reverses such as the new Obverse with 145 teeth, and section 3 (pages 33 to 94) has been effectively re-written to include new varieties, mostly different date widths and/or overdates. New pages have been added with a suffix. e.g Page 34A so that the total of pages will have increased by a dozen or so, but that entire section will need to replaced in the binder with the new pages.
  2. Added - thanks for the heads up. Price seems spot on to me.
  3. Thanks Mike and thanks also to Cliff Davies who mailed me scans of the 3 pages.
  4. Changing the subject, I "swapped" collection websites today with Kevin Booth who has now put his impressive penny collection up onto a website and is happy that I share its URL with Forum members. it's Kevin's penny collection
  5. Yes, I'm not yet convinced.
  6. Anyone else got a wavy 2 ? I'd like to see more examples.
  7. Great info, Ian - thanks.
  8. Could you post a photo of the wavy one please.
  9. Not quite - section 3 (pages 33 to 94) has been updated in its entirety with new varieties and pictures, so several new pages with suffixes (but not 94) - I'm helping with the proof reading.
  10. I think I can remember that............................................................................................................maybe not
  11. The subliminal reason I picked "Secret Santa" as my Forum name !
  12. Any idea of the ratio of 1856 PT small and large dates, Ian ?
  13. Yes, it's the book that got me hooked on pennies.
  14. Michael Gouby put me in touch with a chap called Frank Hulett who's just had published a new A5-sized booklet devoted to the decimal penny 1971-2020. It's an excellent piece of work with superb illustrations and descriptions of the different varieties that he's come across. He's also discovered that the Brilliant Uncirculated specimens issued by the Royal Mint sometimes have characteristics different from the specimens issued for circulation. Frank is happy to supply interested collectors with a copy of his splendid book for the cost of postage. His email address (which he's happy for me to quote) is: frankhulett@hotmail.com I recommend it for collectors of decimal coins.
  15. "No sweat" said a spokesman for Prince Andrew.
  16. As we get more and more divided by issues like Brexit, left v right, handling of the virus, etc, you may have a point.

  19. Have you not seen the morons on the beach and at illegal raves..............................?
  20. Pete You seem to have suddenly become digitally proficient - what's your secret ?
  21. That's a lovely example, John - is it a new acquisition ?
  22. I do have 2 photos of that coin and one does suggest an underlying 7 but the other doesn't. I'm sure it's not there. Trick of the light. Angles and lighting can make such a difference.
