To be honest a lot of cabinets are bought secondhand - here the main problem is what size trays are in it and do they fit the coins in your collection. You often have to wait years to find a suitable one ......

I imagine the production of a few hundred coin cabinets will mean nothing in co2 terms when compared to the waste produced by the hundreds of minor wars rageing over the world

I would describe the 1856 PT as rare and the 1843 as scarce there is also the OT 1856 which makes most penny collectors want 2 coins of this year - the 1843 is of similar rarity but as there are not two varieties most think its more common . Both coins are, while not in the best of grade , collectable.
