  1. Only spoke to Michael quite recently, I had no idea!
  2. Where are you getting the price guide of £70 in EF from? It is £240 in EF in my Spink 2013. You are probably looking at at least £140 for a problem-free EF 1902 Crown (regular issue) - be aware that this issue is also available in matt proof.

    1937 Crown

I agree with Stuart, in fact pretty much all G6 silver is reasonably affordable in as struck BU with a little patience (depending on one's budget of course!)

    1937 Crown

Little to no wear but the obverse has digs in the field at 4 o/c and marks on the King's cheek

    1937 Crown

Looks like it may have been dipped and/or cleaned to me
  6. But in the end he is left with a woman who thinks he is someone else ... still love the film though, one of only ten or so I watch again and again!
  7. Love that film, even though ultimately he cheats to get what he wants!
  8. You are incorrigible Peter!
  9. You did find a mega bargain recently Scott, that's for sure!
  10. Absolutely classic Rob, I enjoyed reading that!
  11. There's a flood of 'em!
  12. Oh no! Someone else won it - was it one of us?
  13. Trouble is that the under-bidder is at £422 and the 3rd highest at £401, so it would drop to £411 (I think?) and he/she may end up buying it!
  14. Hard to believe people willing to spend that sort of money cannot know their subject to this extreme degree!!!
  15. The 1918 and 1919 KNs are much rarer are worth considerably more than the Hs, which in turn are rarer than the plains
  16. "1967 Penny, BU or better, ex eBay 2014"
  17. Citizen Smith more like
  18. Did you hear the one about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac? He lay awake all night wondering if there was a dog.
  19. Yep, not seen this post yet Richard?
  20. While ESC is quite out-of-date for much of it's relative rarity assessments, and omission of varieties discovered since it was last published, ESC reference numbers are still widely used ... if you can pick up a copy cheaply I definitely would (I got a copy of eBay 18 months ago in fabulous condition for under a tenner delivered). If you get into varieties of modern silver or bronze (predominantly 20th century) then I would recommend David Groom's books on these (he is a member on here and kindly signed my book on silver varieties)
  21. Welcome along Sweep! You might be interested in perusing Accumulator's penny collection - it's very impressive! (I am not a penny collector myself, milled silver for me!) Accumulator's penny collection
  22. Thanks Pies, don't you hate it when you discover scratches or other blemishes for the first time when you photograph the coin! This is exactly why i take hi-res images and post here, so that others may find something i have'nt seenCoin 5 is EF, digs on the OBV, Leaf veins worn, REV left hand thistle has wear along with part of the crown, could be GVF at this rate (sorry) you know how harsh they are That's ok Dave, I am well aware they are not all top grades - coin 5 is probably the lowest grade of the 6, I umm-ed and ahh-ed about sending it to them!
  23. I agree with Clive, stick with Windows 7. 8.0 wasn't well enough thought through, 8.1 is good for touch screens, Vista was dreadful.
