  1. Yes, Bill is the Chair of the CGS Forum and FB Group 'Coin Grading Services (CGS) Collectors', I spoke with him the other day ... expect some 'developments'
  2. Thanks all for your kind comments on my pics - I have spent countless hours, and doubtless many more to come! My current (if not yet final) configuration has has some very minor tweaks, which seem to make one neck of a difference! I will post details shortly. This Maundy set accompanies (and matches) the crown - sixpence proof set set I bought and posted about - they are a bugger to get good pics of
  3. Also agree with 2691, if their estimates are correct and it goes for just 20% more than the other 3, it's a no-brainer to me
  4. Thanks Bob I will also post individually as the pic sizes do not seem to work otherwise, been a labour of love!
  5. Spent ages on these this evening, comments invited on my best pics of my recent 1902 proof crown - sixpence set

    any ideas?

VF for me too, as you first thought Chaps - need to see the rev though
  7. Yes they've had a 're-think' - and not the last I'll wager

Yes, that's the one, the one below will be the proof, far more valuable! "Included with Gothic" simply relates to the mintage figures, which are given by year, not type / variety (or even the date on the coin!), back in the day

Not at all, novices, and all and any questions, are extremely welcome! You may be looking a guide prices for a proof, I would expect the circulating 1887 Jubilee head florin to be the first item listed in that section. My latest CCGB (2014) has it at just £40 in UNC Edit: PS - ignore, and do not be intimidated by, the 'Forum God' nonsense - it's automatic after a certain number of posts

Spink 2015 has it at £85 in full UNC - what book are you using?

    any ideas?

It appears to be a problem-free high grade example, in aUNC - easy to find in this grade but not for £6 + change - and of course this is an auction with over a day to go, you cannot just buy it at the current price!

    any ideas?

Fine on the rev, maybe slightly better, less than F on the obverse As Peter suggests, plenty of high grade examples available
  13. Yes, plenty, Colin Cooke, swcoins, buckscoins, to name but 3, all sell on eBay as well as on their own dedicated web sites and at fairs ... there are many others I use. Normally you will get what you are after cheaper by buying directly, as eBay fees are eliminated. Are you focussing on anything in particular yet?
  14. Dealers' web sites, coin fairs, proper coin auctions - all with far superior stock and reliability compared to 99% of eBay. There are a number of highly recommended dealers on here, depending on your collecting focus and budget. I would not go out of my way to recommend the dealer you cite, from personal experience. Feel free to run a potential purchase past the experienced and helpful bunch on here, before you buy!
  15. It's under 'Settings' @IanB
  16. Hi Ian I also use Wordpress for my collection, like Santa I didn't trawl through all the themes, just picked one I liked and that was easy to use. I use 'Twenty Fourteen', which is a 'responsive' theme, meaning that it will adapt to any viewing environment (PC/laptop/tablet/smart phone)

Welcome Chapps, Fine (F) for me
