I was always under the impression that the tide on the 1897 had to be above the folds on britannias robe for it to be a high tide?

Is it me or is this NOT a high tide? 321939581443 Same seller has an 1841 halfpenny saying its FDC but it's graded at CGS85 which is choice UNC according to the CGS list of grading numbers. FDC is proof but it doesn't look proof to me Same seller again has an 1893 penny graded from CGS and does look like 3/2 but how CGS would have missed that I've no idea

I'm sure you can find the crown on it's own elsewhere for far less than £300. This is what i'd call a kiddy on set which is obviously made up to get rid of low grade coins at OTT prices.

Cost of coin + cost of slabbing + ebay & paypal fees = the mark up. Slabbers think that if a coin is in a graded holder that will mean an easy sell at whatever Price it's listed at, but what they don't seem to realised is that only the finest will realise that premium, the fact CGS is a British targeted market only will make it equally difficult to sell As there's not a huge following of their slabs or slabs in general in the UK market.

The problem is that CGS slabs are only recognised by UK buyers, slab collectors generally want either PCGS or NGC slabs, a PCGS collector would crack open an NGC slab and send to PCGS.
