  1. You can pre order from various places, they will be out 12th Dec but shop around as they are more expensive on the RM website. The 2017 proof sovereign is much nicer and the George and Dragon design was only available on the proofs
  2. I got the griffin for 39 euros but they are higher on the mint site, also took this
  3. Number 3 is from Atlasnumismatics, so it will be expensive
  4. When we think of the 1951 crown we think of the festival of britain crown minted in millions, how many collectors? When we think of the penny there are many more collectors of these, just check the pages here on the subject, there's practically a new page and type opened up every other day because there's a half a bead missing and will cause a furore in the penny collecting community
  5. Had to increase the size from 23kb, hopefully it still looks ok
  6. I skipped past Spink this time, there wasn't a great deal in there for me, St James was much the same today, a few passed, obviously reserves were set high. I just wonder if we Brits are a little scared to jump above book prices sometimes
  7. They are good static boxes, i bought 2 a few years back
  8. Check out the prices of the 2014 proof 1 Oz Britannia
  9. and around 99.99% of those 15% are related to William Wallace Geez, even Trump is Scottish
  10. Not sure it was, Bernies was near UNC if i remember correctly
  11. Adding the 1862 on behalf of vicky silver
  12. The surfaces of the REV look as though they have been spray painted, it might just be the angle of the picture but they do look a little rough. Does the auction where you bought these do coins normally? Would they know a genuine American $5 from a fake one?
  13. Top coin is the nicer of the 2, CGS 82 is as they state MS64-65, lets not forget that the American TPGs work to different principles than LCGS
  14. There is one massive difference with art than there is with coins, art is always unique, it's a one off picture which won't be painted again, whereas coins have a mintage...Coins can be minted in seconds whereas a work of art can take weeks or months to produce....Different kettle of fish entirely
  15. @Paulus this was my matte proof Sov, this got a 62 grade because it had mint wipe marks, in all honesty i was disappointed as i thought it was much better than others i'd seen in the same grade, so if you're thinking of sending in proofs just make sure they have no wipe marks
  16. I don't think they'll allow you to take pictures, the last place i viewed coins at stated pictures were strictly forbidden
  17. I would have thought these would be tough for anyone to even find let alone grade
  18. And just as a side salad on coin buying, Rob gave me good advice a while back, don't think about what is good about the coin, (big, bright and shiny etc) try and find it's bad points and reasons you wouldn't buy it.........TPGs love tone also, so you do get grade points for that (which i do find strange) although, when buying coins, eye appeal to the beholder is also an important point... Next year, i'm going to try a year with NGC and see how that goes, they have an office in Munich so i have no postage costs
  19. Its on lot 101 now, so you might catch it
  20. This Vigo is going through the sale room in about 40 mins, lot 116 if anyone is interested in watching it
  21. There was a VERY dubious 1918 Sovereign that most here condemed but Mr Lockett said was kosher
