  1. They don't like mint wipes
  2. Interesting story here http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-vote-eu-referendum-not-legally-binding-supreme-court-legal-challenge-article-50-a7418706.html
  3. I've seen this on YouTube, they basically try and help you hack your own machine and then tell you to give them money to unlock it, 1 guy actually locked their machine and then asked him for cash to unlock it
  4. Will there be a future MacBook version or are you sticking with just windows based?
  5. Reference book on fake Spanish Reales, good for those that buy counter marked coins of George III www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss/251-3060932-0341269?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Counterfeit+Portrait+Eight-Reales%3A+The+Un-real+Reales+
  6. Nowhere near FDC, EF at best
  7. I'm going to make a guess on the Londons Wyon penny and say £4300 hammer, pitch your guesses
  8. If you have tried to attach a bigger than 500kb file initially then reduced it but haven't left the topic and come back to it, it will still recognise the first attempt. For some strange reason you have to leave the topic and re-enter it and try uploading again
  9. 196kb image attached, must be you
  10. Perhaps the ability to add notes on a coin, so if there's provenance you'll be able to include this also
  11. Some people also like to add different prices from various up to date publications which then would give them an average price for grade, so being able to add columns for various books such as spink, CCGB and coin year book, they'll all have different prices for the same grade, being able to develop the internal mechanics of the software should be a must have IMO, but then again, i use a MacBook lol
  12. Definitely not a penny, the flan is 18.5mm in dia without any signs of milling, its also a little heavier than a farthing which would give credence of it being struck on the halfpenny flan
  13. So this just arrived, i'll pop a couple of pictures up later. The weight i have is 3g although admittedly my scales aren't perfect, the dia is 18.5mm roughly measured with digi verniers, there doesn't seem to be any milling on the rim and the colour of that is the same as the rest of the coin...Pics will follow.....
  14. If you look at the Spink picture, the scratches are visible on the coin which wasn't slabbed at the time
  15. So a relevant question whilst on the subject of conservation, what is the actual difference when a TPG does this and someone at home perhaps going through a similar process? If a TPG picks up on this it gets a body bagged label stating "hairlines cleaned" why are TPGs allowed to do this and it's ok, yet John Doe gets a cleaned label. The other gripe i have is to do with the Matt proofs wiped at the mint, i got a PF62 grade for hairlines and IMO it was better than a lot i've seen in that grade, but Catherines also has hairlines on the REV from cleaning and gets a 66 grade, so are we talking favouritism towards certain submitters?
  16. Catherine, my opinion, for what it's worth to you is this, send it back and get bidding on the one at Londoncoins with the Wyon provenance (sorry Atlas)
  17. Perhaps because no one here works for PCGS and we can't answer for them lol
  18. The scratch by the helmet is also on the Spink picture, so that was there previously and I can also see the faint lines around the trident on the Spink one as well
  19. Is the scratch by the helmet on the slab? Also (maybe over critical) although enlarging the pic on the REV, there are also some (cleaning?) scratches around the trident area
  20. The only thing that grinds me about LCA is that their photography isn't consistent with all the coins, some are really dark, some over exposed etc, a company like LCA should be employing a photographer that has the correct setup. Look at how often people here try try and try again to get it right, LCA never seem to improve on this which is really one of the important jobs when distance selling or buying coins
  21. I'm waving my virtual middle finger at you Peter
  22. I just bought it Colin, when it arrives i'll be looking it over
  23. Need some sunglasses for that one, seems far to bright, either cleaned or over exposed to cover it's problems
  24. That's certainly one to drool over
