  1. Looks like their grading System changed then. 80 was UNC, now Choice UNC. Seem to be changing the wording as an when it suits
  2. Re the 1898 shilling, there seems to be some toning above the S H I in SHILLING. The seller also States its CGS graded 75 which he goes onto say is UNC or near so, i thought that was GEF. The thistle has some wear along with the crown above the harp. I think they've been generous. Apparently he is a CGS approved seller as they give him a mention on their website.
  3. AJW Coins was/is a member on here. He popped in a few times, if i remember rightly he was asking opinions of grade on a GEO II Crown or halfcrown
  4. If i were you, i'd take ebay up on their "promise gaurantee" its never EF and the price also suggests the same. To put it harshly, its mediocre at best unfortunately. If you've already paid for it, wait till it arrives and ask for a refund as "not as described" and save your money a little for a better example
  5. Ok, another try http://youtu.be/-GgMEahHWbQ
  6. It seems the Video was removed by the user on Youtube
  7. http://youtu.be/pMcxI2CegWw Watch all the way through, tears of laughter were Rolling down my face by the end of this (null)
  8. Trying to use the quite button does'nt seem to work, so i'll say happy Christmas to you all, my Spink book did'nt arrive from Amazon as promised, so a Little bit annoyed. Peter, you said Mamma Peter will Need picking up shortly, who will be picking you up off the floor later? Have a good one
  9. I would tend to agree that listing varities in CCGB is not viable, Chris would then have to go through every other Denomination and do the same with that. Keeping it Basic and as an up to date Price reference is what makes the book, although i think several of your Prices are a Little out of touch now Chris, judging from recent sales such as DNW, the Prices for top grade items are far exceeding most reference guides, this part might Need an overhaul
  10. Apparently a bit of a virus kicking About, be warned http://www.secureworks.com/cyber-threat-intelligence/threats/cryptolocker-ransomware/ (null)
  11. Kindle book downloaded. Thanks for the heads up on the kindle app Peck. Could be a popular app for me and the Frau
  12. Looks like the tubleweed is blowing through the Topic. Sorry, i have'nt seen one either.
  13. The last one is definately quite distinct compared to the other 3
  14. I can see the 1, not as distinct as the 9s, but its there. Coins are minted and not printed, banknotes are printed
  15. You seem to get around scottishmoney. You were in the Ukraine for a while, now Boston?
  16. Will you be buying the coin from Saxby Clive?
  17. One for the hammered boys Item #: 141145107550
  18. I have a different problem in searching. My mother died when i was 2 years old and basically her mother and i believe her stepfather and that side of the Family took nothing to do with my Brother and myself. I assume after she was cremated they just pissed off and left my father and grandmother to bring us up, i'm not to sure i want to search for that side anymore, although i do have a lot of questions and gaps that need filling. My father and my grandmother were both pretty vague about the whole subject but i do know that my mothers mum and dad had a farm in East Grinsted? Called boylies farm, thtat's about as far as in went My father and grandmother are now both dead so a lot of info died with them
  19. That still doesn't answer the grade issue, why they weren't worn out at the time?Minted in numbers? Plus the tokens that were likely still around, plus it being a relatively new coinage perhaps people were thinking it was'nt kosha Geld. Its certainly one to think about
  20. He dös have 1 or 2 decent Crowns in there, i've seen a lot worse.
  21. Hmmmm, off the top of my head i could only go with that i don't find them a popular coin, much like the Bank tokens there is'nt enough variety or variation to be a collectable series. Just my opinion, i could be wrong though
  22. I think the toning of it would put be me off, a little too dark, although saying that, you then know its not been dipped. I also noticed the rubbing on the George and Dragon between the date but if you Look at a couple of others he has, they also have rubbing in the same spot. The 20% that Vicky mentioned is to obviously cover fees on ebay
  23. Why is the Richard III so popular? His short 2 year reign?
  24. And this one is?
  25. Will be good to see the other stuff also. If nothing, you've learnt a little bit surrounding the Scarborough coinage and a very interesting period of British history. If its tweaked your enthusiasm then why sell the other coins, you seem to have a good Base to further your great grandfathers collection
