  1. Lol copper123 i remember that very Episode "i've made the finest green" this was when Edmond was skint and tricked the archbishop into bed with Baldrick hahah, Great Comedy
  2. I also have this on my ipad and works a treat. Better with the kindle app Stewie
  3. 11 days after paying my invoice i'm still waiting on my auction lot. Anyone else or just me?
  4. Any samples of the book Chris, a couple of Pages to try before buying?
  5. Download the kindle app Stuart, its free, also while you've there try downloading whatsapp
  6. You know, sometimes you can give People benefit of the doubt, but it's apparent that he's just blatantly mis-attributing various coins (stating they are rare) when they are worth only a few Pounds or at best multiples of 10s up to 100 Pounds. I have myself mentioned a coin that was mis-atributed to him with nothing being done. He deserves everything he gets and will get but then again, if it's anything like the ebay seller i highlighted many many times on here then we'll find buyers from this very Forum for saxbys coins, ironic that we're probably helping Highlight his auctions and People will buy because of it (nowt strange as folk) as they say in Prestwich The other Thing is, ebay don't know their arse from their elbow when it Comes to coins, they have no one who knows enough about the subject to say "this is'nt genuine" or this is falsely described and this seller has done this many times" until the day that there is someone of such stature working at ebay then they will continue believing a seller with 20,000 plus Feedbacks against a buyer with 100+
  7. Lol, feel free to post them Clive. If you did'nt bid why is he threatening and what?
  8. Sorry, in short it was a serious offer, you can obviously pay any costs involved and i'll be happy to sort out the slabbing for you. P.s, i have'nt changed stance towards TPGs, rhe coins i want slabbing are coims i intend to sell over the Pond
  9. If you want to send a coin i'm going to do a 1 year membership at the 130 euro Level and i'll get 5 free grades, those will be taken by a few Morgan Dollars and 1 or 2 spanish pillar dollars i have, if i get anymore done after that it was start costing, i'll find out the fine detail when i go there hopefully sometime this week
  10. Welcome to the forum Dan. You have come to the right place for friendly advice. Apart from all of the above you can also wade through coin aquisition of the week thread. Thereyou will see many of the various coins members have bought and posted there for all to see, going through some of the 225 Pages might also tweak your interest in a certain denomination and types such as hammered or milled. Its a good place to start but for gods sale DO NOT go in the TPG section until you've been collecting for a few years, its a minefield and can get quite heated, you have been warned
  11. I have 5 Morgans of which i want maybe 3 of them slabbing because the 1878CC is a nice high grade and the 1881S PL (prooflike) for the American way of grading is also high grade, and from the NGC site an MS65 is valued at $2250 so it has to be worth my while.
  12. Has he got his eye on you Clive. Was it last week when i bidded up the Chas I triple Unite that some ebay scroat had grabbed the picture from buckscoins, i think i topped out at 20 grand before it was removed
  13. Well it appears that there is an NGC office right on My doorstep. If i pay 130 i get 5 free gradings which is much cheaper than PCGS Paris who want 69 membership and 45 a coin. Anyone needing coins slabbed for the American market?
  14. The date looks rather straight instead of curving slightly with the rim
  15. I'll answer my own post then..... .......reason I ask is I bid £2250 on the 1919KN (at the £1-2K estimate I think it was) and thought I was sure to get it. When I last mentioned the LC example on offer at £3250 in another thread, most thought it well over priced......so is this the way prices are going for top grade pennies? Certainly the LC coin looks nice, but it's been sitting around for a while (at least a year) which would leave me slightly suspicious that that it doesn't view quite so well in hand. Surprising they don't put it in one of their own auctions, as it's a fair amount of money to be tied up for so long. The reason they probably have'nt auctioned it yet is perhaps its too expensive and they know it
  16. Patience isn't one of my better atributes.....my problem is keeping track of which auctions are coming up. A diary page on the forum would be really useful. But then you'd be competing not only against the forum users but every other person that drops onto the forrum
  17. They obviously don't know the difference between a Gold sovereign and a phone, why has she written that its a phone thats missing?
  18. No sorry if that's how it reads. The value as is now £110. My point was it should not make a difference to customer service whether the coin is worth X amount, but they have missed out on my future dealings as it could of totalled to the £1000's.If you want Bill to read your post it might be better to PM him you complete initial post as this will go to his email
  19. They have a Munich office? I live in Munich yet never heard of that. Must check this out.
  20. There was a low and too end estimate on what i was checking, so obviously the start price was too high for the coin in the 1st place which also helps
  21. Surely Investors in these sort of markets have people who do know how the coin market works. I would'nt go out and purchase shares to invest in as i woul'nt know which company is doing well and which is'nt, so in that respect, if they have that sort of wedge to Play with they'll also have people with Knowledge buying for them
  22. Oooooh my favourite topic. So where is this NGC site, do they have a European grading house? I was thinking of shipping to PCGS in Paris as i'd previously read their site and last year if you joined at their top membership Level of €125 you could get 8 free gradings, they've now changed this and it costs €69 to join and €45 per coin plus €10 handling fee and then shipping back to you which needs to actually be arranged with PCGS as they don't normally ship. So all in all it can get expensive, and the costs need to be weighed up. So dös NGC have a European office and website?
  23. As i found out today, any lot number that has'nt been posted means it has'nt been sold. I emailed Semra Cetim as i was interested in a price of a lot which was'nt listed and she said that if the price was'nt avaliable then it was'nt sold
  24. You're not allowed to sell anything nazi related in. Germany although it does happen, the fleamarkets are good placed too pick up bits and pieces although the deckels are normally covered. Anything that glorifies hitler is banned but hitler was never on the OBV of any coin, only the reichseagle. I read a few weeks back the mein Kampf book.which Hitler wrote in jail has been banned since the end of the war from being published, that ban is due to run out.
  25. IT looks like they are going back to their IT Department and using their own auction Software again. Oh well, looks like another Fine mess Stanley
